It's a very good sounding and well made clarinet for the price. The clarinet resonates with that smooth,velvety sound that's all important in the lower register, replicating clarinets selling for much more. I've been playing mine for many months now with no mechanical problems. I recommend upgrading the reed though. The thumb rest can be a little painful at first (as with most clarinets). I suggest padding the thumb rest until the discomfort subsides. And as with any new clarinet, one will need to add a little cork grease to assemble it. Now, for an update, I had the clarinet since March of 2016, and I play it on average of three days a week, for about two hours a day, and it still plays exceptionally well -- just like the first day that I purchased it.
