Hot
This product easily self inflates mostly and you can blow it up more as you wish. I find that it makes my back extremely sweaty when I sleep on it, but you cannot say it is not insulating your heat. the air valve is near where you might put your head and your hand might hit it, but overall it is a robust good mattress and compacts nicely

... made all the difference while remote camping between a good night's sleep and not
It made all the difference while remote camping between a good night's sleep and not. With two people camping, we only bought one, because the male camper insisted he was tough enough to not need one. However, while camping he kept the female camper up half the night moaning and groaning about being uncomfortable. The female camper gave the pad to him, and he promptly fell asleep. The female camper was uncomfortable and secretly plotted her partner's demise, but at least he was quiet, blissfully sleeping on her pad. They will invest in another one for the next go around. The first few times we unrolled it, we had to manually blow air into it, but it self inflates now.

2 Stars on the Value Curve for My Honest Pessimistic Review
I purchased this for use on a cot as an alternative to using a combination of a 1" foam insulating pad ($15@ Walmart) and a 2.5" air mattress ($40 to $60 @ Cabela's) hoping to get the same or similar comfort level with less stuff to pack into the car. To be transparent, I have some back issues and am a 5'10" 160lb active adult in my 40's.The first night on the cot, I used just the TNH pad. My back was so sore the next day that I had restricted mobility. The second night I used the foam insulating pad and the THN pad with the same result. Nights 3 and 4 I used the foam insulating pad with the 2.5" air mattress, and my back was fine. The next camping trip, my wife used the TNH on the cot. She said it was OK, but not great. For her 2nd night, I purchased another 1" pad to put under it, which she said helped. My 9 yr old son has volunteered to use it from here on out so I will be keeping it. Still not bad for the price, but my expectations were much higher given the reviews.Other things to note. The instructions say you are not to store it rolled up in its bag. This may be an issue for most people like me who simply do not have the room in the house to have a mattress pad unrolled hanging around. When I tried to register the product for warranty on the manufacturer's website, the registration link did not work. I sent an email, but did not receive a reply. I did however receive marketing emails from the site on a weekly basis until unsubscribing. Perhaps I am just pessimistic, but when the seller promotes a great warranty, but you cannot register the product and you are not supposed to store it in its bag, I get suspicious.Again, not bad for the price, as long as your expectations are in check.Update: Shortly after writing my review, a second air mattress appear on my doorstep. It is not in my order history, nor was I charged or contacted by Amazon or TNH. I reached out to Amazon and they do not have any record of it and I can keep it if I like. The tracking information shows it shipped from the local Amazon distribution center. I can only assume TNH sent it, so I can say their customer service is good, so thank you.

This sleeping pad is AWESOME!!
This sleeping pad is AWESOME!!,I was scepticle about purchasing this pad not knowing about it ahead of time.Let me start off with when it was delivered. After I had opened the box and pulled out of the carrying bag I first noticed the quality is very good and it is light weight just as I was looking for.The materials are durable just as a more expensive pad is,my opion is you can't get anything of better quality for the price. The second thing I did was roll it out to let it self inflate, with adding 8 to 10 good breaths into it,it was as firm as I wanted it.the last test was if the contours of my body would touch the floor while laying on it,mind you I am 6'2" and weighing 230lbs.after laying on the pad and was very surprised that nothing was touching the floor I knew this was the best purchase in a 1.5inch in thickness you can possible get.The pad has a good insulation that is perfect for cold to warm temperatures also.Last but not least I was excited to test this pad on the trail. After a 11 mile hike and sleeping on this pad I slept perfect and warm in a cold temperature of 48 degrees, woke up and knew I had made the right decision with purchasing this sleeping pad.I would recommend this pad to anyone looking for a light weight sleeping pad that is isulated and of good quality.

From Five Stars... to One
Did exactly what I hoped. Lightweight and added much comfort to camp sleeping, but by the second trip (months after the first), whatever separates the inside chambers came apart so it is flat on one side and greatly overinflated on the other. I'd like to order a replacement, but hesitate to do so.

So I had to give it one start because the one I got didn’t hold air. I bought this last Sept for a backpacking trip ths May. Unfortunately I should have slept on it before my trip? That way I could have returned it! Anyway, halfway through each night I would be on the ground.

Aneurism
Have had it for almost a year. Used it a few times. Has an aneurism by the valve. Kinda like a complementary pillow but it spreads the more pressure is applied. Also I can’t fully inflate the rest without excessive pressure on the aneurism.

Didn't expect this!
Recently I went on a mission trip with my church from Atlanta, GA up to Bluffton, SC to run sports camps and VBS camps to reach the community of a small church partner. In order to stay at a place that could accommodate the team of 23, we rented out several classrooms in a nearby church. We cleared out the tables and chairs and set up our sleeping arrangements on the floor. The rest of the team waited in line to inflate their air-mattresses, but I just pulled this thing out and with 3 breaths I was ready to go. I was a little nervous that the pad was going to be too small to sleep on for a whole week, but by the end of our trip, I was glad I chose to go with the TNH Outdoors sleeping pad. I slept in a warm weather sleeping bag and felt perfectly comfortable all week long. One major feature that is great about this product is how small it can be packed up. It fits in a small bag with all of my camping gear perfectly. Very convenient for traveling with.Another thing that impressed me was that I ordered this in a Seattle airport as I was about to board my flight back home to Atlanta, and the next day I had already received the package. This was very important because I had only one day in between landing in Atlanta and leaving for Bluffton. The shipping was ridiculously fast and very convenient. This is my first product from this startup company and I have not been let down. Great work TNH Outdoors!

Broke after 3rd use
This was my first sleeping pad which I bought right before a camping trip to the Glacier National Park. Right off the bat it only self inflates maybe 30%, the rest you have to do yourself. It worked fine the first couple nights of use, however on the third night I woke up because I felt like I was sleeping on solid ground. (Note that I wasn't sleeping on sharp rocks or anything, I slept inside a tent which was placed on regular camping grounds at the park.) I checked the pad and it was completely deflated. Tried inflating it again and it lasted for another hour before completely deflating again. Kinda disappointed but then it is pretty cheap. Returned it.

Does not hold needed air for support
Was okay with the larger than described size when deflated and packed down. Was fine with it being less than premium quality when inflated and in use. Am not okay with the fact that it doesnt stay inflated. In terms of a self-inflating pad, it achieves less than that. I have 8 sleeping pads of various type, size, and quality, and this was supposed to be the "I dont care about weight, size, or comfort. It's better than the ground." It is the ground. On average, most of the needed "added air" is gone in 5 min.

Poor Build Quality
Bought this for a two week camping trip and it failed after one week. It worked adequately but just was not built to last. I have another much more expensive name brand inflatable mattress that has been going strong for nine years and I’ve slept on it at least 500 times and never had a problem or leak. The old adage applies here... you get what you pay for.

Consider other options before this one
I used this pad while working on a trail crew and camping up to 8 days at a time for 5 months, sometimes in below freezing temps. It worked well in the beginning but wore out after 4 months and deflated overnight. It's also bulky and takes up a lot of of space. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone, with the exception of occasional car campers.

Happy then I wasn’t...
I had high hopes for this, but after only owning for a few months and only after using it 2 times, the internal stitching has come loose and there is a huge lump that makes using this very unpleasant. At first, I thought that I could use the lump as a pillow, but even that is awkward... I should have spent the money and gotten something with a manufacturing defect clause, as Amazon tells me that I missed my window to return this! Ugh!!

Warranty issue
I bought this pad 2 months ago and after several uses the valve stem leaks air. I've try to warranty/register and it just takes me to fb messages! I don't have or care to use fb, is that the only way to communicate with thn? No phone # on their Web site, I've emailed directly from their site and no response! I'm lookin for thn to make this right, what crap to need fb to register.
