This is a well built antenna and fits the raido good and works pretty good to.

Excellent antenna. I got this for an xhdata e-100 and it works perfectly with the rubber gasket.

Added this antenna to my tactical radio gear with a Baofeng AR-5RM. Greatly improved the transmitting and receive signal, and still compact enough to keep it portable with its fold-over design. Light weight so it's less of a strain on the antenna connector. The reason for 4 stars is because nothing is perfect, so I still consider this an excceptional antenna for an HT, and will recommend. You can't beat ABBREE quality for this price.

Let's start with what matters most. This antenna, despite being extremely inexpensive, is amazingly effective in improving both reception and transmission. I'm able to listen to, and send reliable signals to, repeaters that are fairly far away. With my Tidradio H8 this morning. In a test this morning, I hit a repeater 15 miles away and was able to be heard acceptably at 2 watts, and wall-to-wall at 5 and 10 watts. The sense I get is that it effectively DOUBLES my reach compared with the rubber ducky that came with it. One matter that concerned me at first was that the antenna felt far too rigid to fold over...I was sure I'd destroy it. A friend who was "braver" folded it over and showed me my fears were unfounded. I haven't tried testing it in the folded-over position yet, but am interested in how the signal strength differs when in folded position.

Great upgrade over the stock antenna! The ABBREE 18.8-inch foldable is sturdy, easy to carry, and makes a noticeable difference on both VHF and UHF. I’m hitting repeaters farther out and getting clearer audio on receive. The foldable design is super convenient, and the SMA-Female fit is secure. Compact, durable, and great performance. highly recommended!

I’ve ran these in baofangs and the cheap pxton radios, they boost range and the vertical ability to pick up anything. They are a bit big but if they allow me to transmit clearly, it’s worth it.

Purchased two of these for our Fangs to see if we could increase our distance/range. Frequencies that we normally pick up clearly were dropping in and out, super choppy, but it only happened as soon as we added these antennas. When we removed them and reinstalled the standard antennas, the signal strength went back to normal with no choppy air time. Tried one last time with both handsets to see if it was user error, but no luck, we had the same results. The sound came in choppy and intermittent. It’s worth adding these antennas don’t sit flush with the threading on the handset and leave a few mms of open space. They give you a thick o-ring to add at the base to fill the gap, but I’d prefer a flush fit. Installation was easy, and the antennas fold for better storage, but it wasn’t quite what we were looking for. Returning these to see if we can get something more compatible with our setup.

I use this brand antenna on three different HT’s and the difference is remarkable. Just about anything out performs the standard rubber duck that comes with most radios. I also have the 18 inch versions of the rubber ducks for my Yaesu’s and Baofeng’s that work pretty well. But this antenna clearly outperforms all other HT antenna I’ve owned. The nearest 2m repeater is 23 miles from me and I can hit it from inside the house with this antenna. It folds easily and the retaining strap makes portability a breeze. Just make sure you order the correct SMA connection for your specific radio.
