Awesome Roller
I love this roller! My physical therapist recommended that I use a roller at home because my IT band is very tight following long term knee problems, and this has had a huge impact on my life! At first, using this roller was very, very painful and I could not do it for more than a few seconds. After using it very frequently, my IT band is definitely looser, and I am more comfortable walking, working out, and living my daily life. I highly recommend this to anyone that works out regularly, or experiences persistent pain. Although I initially purchased this for my IT band, I use it all over my body. The roller is pretty sizable, but I always make room for it in my carry on, when I have to travel. I have been using this roller for months (and I am not a skinny girl) and it is not dented or damaged at all. It still looks brand new, and it is still extremely firm. This might not be appropriate for everyone, because of the firmness of this roller. However, a lot of work and patience may be rewarded with more relaxed muscles. Be prepared: if you have never used a roller before, this is going to hurt A LOT. Don't push yourself too much, at first. Over time, your muscles will loosen and you will have fewer knots. I'm really glad I have this roller, but it is definitely a challenging part of stretching out.

Roll tight spots away...
This is a great size, I debated getting the smaller roll and the longer one, but decided this would be best, and I was right. I roll my legs after running and working out and it helps immensely. After a long day of sitting at work, I can come home and roll out kinks and it's great. It has become one of those things that I am not sure I want to be far from for very long. Don't know why I waited as long as I did to get it! It was a great price in comparison to other brands, it is high quality, dense and firm, and I know it will last for a long time. It is firm but not hard, with just the right give. Overall, this is a great product!

Serviceable
There seem to be two major types of these foam rollers, there are the very high density polystyrene (which is what this is) and also very high density polyethylene. I couldn't honestly tell from the picture or the description which sort of foam it was, but I figured that one foam has got to be just as good as another foam so I just went with it because the price was right. Now that I've used both kinds of foam, I think that I honestly prefer the polyethylene type (which is probably the more expensive kind) because it just as a LITTLE bit more give; with this I often end up feeling a little bruised because of how hard it is. But at the same time its hardness also really does a great job in smoothing out those muscles and helping keeping yourself balanced on it, and it's definitely built to last. As far as quality of construction goes I have no complaints, and it seems to do its job just about as well as any other 18" round foam roller. Maybe there's a whole variety of different density foam rollers and I have only skimmed the foamy surface of these devices. But yeah, it does what it's supposed to do and it was a great price, so no major complaints besides maybe me being overly tender.

Great Product for the Price.
1. Awesome Product for the price. Strong and perfect for those deep knots all athletes will have. Seriously, if you don't think this is strong and doesn't work out the knots around your body, you're either using it wrong, somehow, or you need to get yourself a PVC pipe. Enough Said. 2. Unfortunately you may have one side sawed off. I used a finishing spray on the end so that it doesn't degrade. Works pretty well and no stray foam is fallen off and I've used it a handful of times. So, pretty lame, but it's not falling apart at all. Big turn off, I have to say about it being cut. However, this is an excellent product for the price and works extremely well. Try finding another high density foam roller for this price. I actually did AT MY GROCERY STORE???. Idk how that happened, but i found it there days after I purchased this and it was 100% intact. I kicked myself in the ass for that one. But oh well. This is a Great product and I have zero complaints besides that. **You may read on here that it's not that hard, but trust me, I've been rolling for a year now, and this roller is the next best thing to a PVC pipe. It's a great price and is very strong. I weigh 165 - 170lbs, can stand on top of this roller and it gives very very slightly, obviously, it's foam, but it's not going to fail you and indent after heavy use.

An incredible investment to my back's health!
I had the Gaiam roller before but it got distorted quickly and I would prefer not to have to fill a landfill with 5 or 6 of them a year so I decided to try this roller. So far, it's much stronger and holding up well. I am sure it won't last forever, but right now I am guessing we'll have to buy a new one in a year or hopefully longer. It's well made and with all my severe back pain, it does not hurt my back. You have to be careful with how you use these rollers. If it hurts, you're either doing it wrong or you should be seeing a doctor as you may have a serious spinal injury and need further instruction on what exercises you can to to help your back. Breathing in deep when I hit my trigger areas helps and I don't over do it when I do have more pain than stretch and pull on the roller. It's helping me strengthen my core too. I use it every day and it's great! If you've never used a roller, I can tell you the first time I used one to stretch my back was a huge improvement. This will definitely help with your chiropractor bill!

THIS IS A CUT 36 inch!!!!
So I specifically did not buy several other rollers I was looking at because it was advertized that the 18 inch was half of a 36 inch. I get why they do this but I wanted one with two finished ends and not one finished end and one cut end. (It just looks silly that its not symmetrical). This roller does not state it is a cut 36 in roller in the description and in the few reviews I read I did not see mentioned. So I was a bit disappointed to receive it and discover that it was half of a 36 inch roller. However, it doesn't seem that noticeable so I decided it was cheap enough that it was worth it to keep than to return it and begin again to find the "perfect" roller. As far as the density, I had been trying to find one that I thought wasn't super hard but would last. This definitely isn't the hardest density roller I've seen (actually i would consider most $30 rollers that Ive seen at sporting goods stores and target to be firmer). If I press hard with my fingers I can compress the foam a little. I actually think I like it that way, it isnt as uncomfortable as some of the firmer rollers, and I've accepted that it probably wont last as long as those rollers. It isnt perfect but in the end I decided it was worth the price I paid for it but I certainly wouldn't purchase it again when I need a replacement in the future.

Great for Chronic Back/Shoulder/Neck Pain Relief
I suffered a sever spinal injury a few years ago via a bike accident. This is one of the few low-cost body aids that works consistently. It's easy to use to roll out my back and relieve the extra tension along my spinal column. I literally slither out of bed--"getting" out is not really an option some days when you have chronic pain--and do my morning stretches with this dream. I've had my current roller since Sept 2014 and it's still firm and does the trick. I remember i being quite hard in the beginning, but I stood on it to stretch out my sore insteps and it softened up after a week or so. I will definitely be purchasing again when I feel like my roller gets too soft to be as effective for my needs. But luckily, I don't foresee that happening anytime soon!

Great Price, Worthwhile Quality
In my opinion, the 18" long rollers are the best size. 12 inches is too short for rolling the back well, and even when doing the legs it's easy enough to be having to shift around as you track to one edge to the other. I think longer than 18" is just wasted length, unless you want to roll both your inside arm and leg adductors at the same time, in which case you're probably not spending enough attention on either anyway. BUT, you can cut the longer ones in half to have two decent sized ones if you don't care about looks. Slice 'em with a really fine toothed saw or just a sharp knife, then seal with a match or lighter, and you won't have pieces falling off. To this particular product, it was shipped fast and as described. It's appropriately dense and only leaves some temporary rounded "dents" if you stand on them or something, but they pop back out within an hour. I would say even doing that doesn't ruin its integrity or usefulness unless you were just balancing on it all the time.
