I bought this in December 2018 and it’s still holding strong and I have had ZERO issues with this little magnet! The charger works great as I drive 60 miles every day, sometimes I really need that quick charge on the way to work. My only issue is that the little plastic disc that slides Into the cd slot pressed against the rubber liner that protects the cd slot from dust got morphed into a strange shape BUT you have to get very close to the cd slot to actually see it. I’ve had many people in and out of my car and not one person has mentioned it so I know it’s not noticeable at all. This is a fantastic mount/charger for your pitaka case! 10/10

Where to start; I think the only positive thing I can say about this mount is that it has been the only one I've tried where the magnets are strong enough to hold a iPhone XR securely.Now on the the bad:- Ball socket. The iPhone XR is just too heavy for the all plastic joint to hold. I had to constantly re-adjust the angle and re-tighten the screw on the back as it would start to slouch after a few bumps.- Build Quality. Cheap parts all around. The all plastic socket on the back of the charger that the ball fits into broke within the first 3 months of usage. The reason is because of the previous bullet; the socket kept having to be adjusted and the thin plastic snapped off (much like one of the other reviewers who posted a picture). The fan in the charger is also atrocious; it is probably the cheapest fan ever manufactured. It is loud, occasionally stutters (speeds up and down) for the first few minutes, and makes no noticeable difference in heat dissipation.- The Mount. I had the CD tray version; it did not securely fit into the tray. Not because my CD tray is uniquely size, but because the teeth that go into the tray just go move like they should. You'd think with a screw that's 1" long that it'd have quite a bit of give, but I had to add foam padding to get it to stop slouching even more than bullet #1 already was doing.

This magnetic mount charger has mediocre .magnets, wont hold my Galaxy S8 securely. Also charges phon very slow, if at all...

Worked fine for first 8 months. The internal fan started humming recently and i can no longer use. Its driving me crazy.

I received two of these as the first one I got seemed to be a little loose on the back where you insert the ball to connect to the holder. I contacted them and they sent me a new one after explaining the problem I was experiencing. Upon receiving the new one I feel I can give a better review. This new version, while obviously improved for cooling, airflow, and faster charging is great it does not feel as stable to me as the older version. I personally think the reason for this is based on the fact that it is thicker (due to the extra cooling components I am assuming) and the plastic has more room to move as where the original mount was thinner it felt more stable. Now this is not to say that the new one is not as good at what it is intended to do, which is charge and hold the phone because it does both of those very well if not better but, this version to me feels of less quality which may only be because of the design not the actual construction. I love every Pitaka product I have and this is the first one that I have had any sort of issue with. I will continue to purchase their products and review them because I do believe they make some of the best quality products on the market and I definitely want to let everyone know how great their products are. I am in no way affiliated with Pitaka so do not think this is a sponsored ad or they gave me anything for this I just want people to know they are getting great quality from them, but for me this one just missed the mark slightly.

I spend a lot of time in my car so having a safe and convenient way to hold and charge my phone is important to me. I've been using the Pitaka slim carbon cases on my phones for several years now and I love them since they protect the phone without adding any bulk and, now that they came out with the new case with built in magnets along with these wireless chargers, I had to give them a try.The unit is bit bigger than I expected but not by much - it has a built in fan to keep it cool so that adds to the size. I ordered the CD mount but found that the placement wasn't ideal for me so I swapped it for a Garmin vent mount I had lying around instead.The phone (iPhone XS) stays in place quite nicely and is easy to install and remove from the charger. It doesn't stick to it like many others do so I'm not constantly pulling the charger off the mount along with the phone. My phone has also never fallen off the charger while driving.I haven't timed it to see how quickly it charges my phone but it's easily on par with my Zeus mobile usb charger I used previouslyOne problem I did encounter was a squealing noise coming from the built in fan. It didn't do it constantly but it began appearing more frequently after a few months. I sent a note to Pitaka and asked them if there was anything I could do to fix the problem but, they ended up replacing my unit free of charge without any hassle.They were very friendly, straight forward, and easy to deal with and that's what matters to me. Sometimes we encounter unexpected issues with stuff we buy so was pleased to find out that they took my inquiry seriously were willing to help even though I suspect I was outside of the warranty period.I'm on my 3rd or 4th Pitaka slim carbon case and I will definitely be purchasing another then next time I upgrade my phone.
