5/21 Update: The product is still working very well for me and I use it pretty much daily. It has made such a difference for my feet. Originally purchased 3/21 - I used this lotion 2x a day for about 2 weeks and now I am down to 1x a day or even every other day. My feet were rough and peeling like crazy as they do all the time. I had a Dr prescribe me something years ago that kind of worked on the peeling, but the cost of continued use and the small amount prescribed at a time made it a pain to use. The AmLactin just worked so much better and the size of this bottle will last for a while so the value is much better. I couldn't be happier. It seemed to absorb just fine. The only caution would be that when I was using it 2x a day and put it on at night and then showered in the morning, the bottoms of my feet were very slick getting into the shower for a couple minutes. As the title of my review suggest my feet went from somewhat of an embarrassment to something I have no problem having out in the open. The skin looks so much better and feels so much softer now. I will definitely keep using it. As far as the smell people are reporting, I can smell a slight odor when I apply it, but it's on my feet so the only time I smell it is when I apply it. I wash my hands after applying it so I never smell it again. For me, it's not a strong smell even when applying it. I know others have said it's like cat pee and ammonia and it's real strong. It's a unique smell, I don't own cats so I have no idea if that's the same or not, but again, I don't think it's that strong. Maybe if I had to use it on my arms or something like that I may smell it more and be more self-conscious about it, but the results for me I'm pretty sure I'd still use it either way.

I have struggled with extremely dry, itchy, flaky skin for as long as I can remember, and after 36 years, I can honestly say this is the softest my skin has ever felt. Most lotions either sit on top of my skin or only provide temporary relief, but this one actually absorbs well and keeps my skin moisturized all day. My skin is also soft the next day! It’s best to put it on damp skin after you shower. It is unscented which I love! My rough, flaky patches have improved so much, and my skin feels smooth and comfortable instead of tight and itchy. If you deal with stubborn dry skin, I highly recommend giving this lotion a try. It has definitely earned a permanent spot in my routine!

Our dermatologist suggested this for my son’s super dry and scaly hands. We really like how it feels and it cleared them up. Problem is it has a weird smell. Also like a faint ammonia smell. Doesn’t bother my son but I don’t like the smell! But it works so there is that.

Works wonders. I have skin that falls off in scales if I do not moisturize on a regular basis. Most lotions don't do anything at all for me, but make it look better for the 1st hour after application. I typically apply this right out of the shower onto almost wet skin and see a huge difference in my skin. Since starting this routine, my scales have gone away. On occasion when I don't use it, my skin seems overall better than prior to the start of using it. Although, I do apply after each shower regularly. I do not like the feel of ANY moisturizer, hence the scales to go with my overly dry skin. This one is no different in how I feel with it on, especially in warm weather. To help this, I typically avoid applying it on the inside of my elbows & backs of my knees as these are the most annoying places for it to be applied. And applying it to wet or damp skin does help it absorb. Some people's reviews say it has a bad smell. Either my nose does not work or they have updated that issue. Smells fine to me.

WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT!?!?!? No other way to explain how this works. My elbows WERE gray, dry and callous hard. FOR YEEEEEARS I suffered discomfort from the dryness, they always FELT bruised. But after just ONE application, THE DRY IS GONNNNNNNE. GONE. They still feel a little bruised, but they are SMOOOOOVE! And my heels??? THIS IS WHERE THE VOODOO COMES IN. My heels WERE cracked like the freaking desert ground, my bed sheets WERE always covered in white skin flakes, SO GROSS. But, after ONE pump and rub of this on my feet, WWWTTTHHH??? The next morning I just could not believe how they felt. (I can't bend well enough to see the whole bottom of my feet, but they felt AMAZINNNGGGGG. My heels are no longer 'catching' onto my blankets, and no more layers of dry skin flakes on my sheets at the foot of my bed. JUST ONE APPLICATION! HOW????? CRAZY. Anyways, I put it on my face too, and well, I just can't stop looking at myself, smooth and tighter already. I need to get some holy water here in this house, cuz this product is not of this Earth.

I'll start with the positives. This stuff works great. Like incredibly great! I have very dry skin and this stuff has made major improvements in my crispy, gross, bumpy, long-suffering winter skin after just a few days of use. It's truly amazing. Moving on to the negatives: Other reviewers who say it has an "odd" smell are apparently very kind people, or don't actually have real noses. This stuff stinks to high heaven. It has, for me, an intolerably bad smell. Like a combination of ammonia + cat pee + something petrochemical-ish + maybe some notes of rotting carcass. It's horrific, the smell. Like I want to run away from my own self while I apply it and I actively hate smelling myself after I've put it on. To be fair, the smell *does" dissipate after about 30 minutes, but I still smell it, faintly, many hours after having applied it, and then I want to run away from myself all over again. I haven't asked my husband if he can smell it on me, because I'm scared to know his answer. As a more neutral, though not entirely positive, point of feedback, it goes on sticky and tacky, but that does diminish some after a while, so that you'll be just a little bit sticky by hour 4 and your underpants should cease to stick to your butt cheeks at that time. As to the price: Sure, it's relatively expensive, but it does work beautifully, and perhaps smelling like something that's dead or dying is worth it to you! To summarize: - Pros: This stuff works beautifully and lives up to its advertised promises. I desperately want to love it. - Cons: The price you'll pay for beautiful skin is smelling like a rotting BCE dinosaur corpse that's been doused with 40 pounds of very old and dirty cat litter.

I don’t know if it works

Amazing! Skin felt so much better afterwards and more like my skin should feel. Can cause irritation if you have any sensitive spots. Ie from shaving etc so do be careful with that.

Inmiddels gebruik ik deze lotion ruim een week nu voor mijn door de jaren heen beschadigde, schilferige, droge en vooral dunne huid. Zoals ik al las staat deze lotion bekend om weer volume terug te kunnen brengen in de huid. Het hydraterende van deze lotion werkt vanaf dag één, en dit tweede effect wacht ik de komende tijd af. Twee flessen is prima om het lang genoeg te proberen in ieder geval. De lotion is mild, zowel in het gezicht als op het lichaam, trekt compleet in in een redelijke tijd en gemakkelijk te gebruiken.

Only problem is the smell!

Consistency is key when using KP creams. I've found that applying it regularly, usually once or twice a day, yields the best results. Over time, I've noticed a reduction in redness and a significant decrease in the number of bumps. While it may not completely eliminate the condition, it certainly makes it much less noticeable.
