Best Pitch!
I have several guitar tuning devices but so far this is the best for my acoustic electric guitars and classical guitars. With some of the other tuners I have, ambient noise seemed to be a problem and with others it was all the different variations of tunings and settings that made tuning a challenge. The Korg Rimpitch is straight forward and accurate. I have even consistent tuning all the time no matter which guitar I pick up (I bought five of these, one for each guitar) to play I know it’s going to be on pitch. Fits perfect on my Takamine, Martin, and Taylor guitars. Setup was easy (just don’t drop them in the sound hole or you’ll have to go fishing) and don’t forget to depress the tiny button that releases the battery latch so you don’t break the latch (glad I read the instructions first) and I leave my Rimpitch attached to the guitars all the time.

I play a Taylor 814CE and it does not come with an onboard tuner, which is not a problem. I have a couple clip on type tuners but I hate the way it looks when I have tunes and capos crowded at the top of my guitar. This tuner slips right in and really does the job nicely. I was worried about it falling out or hitting it with a pick but it is completely out of the way. love it! If you have a guitar that does not have an onboard tuner as part of the electronic package, check this one out.

It seems to me a really good idea poorly implemented
I also found that it fell apart when trying to install. Also, it seemed that the metal clips are prone to coming out of their rubber housing and potentially scratching the soundboard around the sound hole. I removed the rubber piece, which wouldn't stay on anyway, and glued a small piece of tonewood about the thickness of my soundboard to make it level then used semi-permanent glue dots to affix it to the inside of the soundboard just inside the soundhole where I could just reach it with the back of my m fingernail. In that configuration it is the best/quickest tuner I have ever used. I do, however, have to use the 12th fret harmonic to tune the sixth string in drop_d tuning. I hope Korg re-thinks the design of this, It seems to me a really good idea poorly implemented..

Surprisingly useful tuner!
While these do fit into your guitar's sound hole, they were designed not to marr the finish so the fit is gentle and may come off when you carry your guitar in it's case. For this reason, I always remove the tuner before I put the guitar into it's case and then put it back into the sound hole when I take it out of it's case.

I was going to come down pretty hard on this tuner because I had a lot of trouble getting it to stay on the guitar. I lost mine one time while playing for people. I fished it out and took it home. I figured out that if I super glue the rubber ears to the metal pinch bracket. I have two of them and haven't had a problem since. I see that what looks like a fix on the problem. It would sure appreciate if you would replace the older style I have with the new updated ones.

Awesome
I love that thing! I used to get so frustrated having to find the tuner and sitting it on my knee and dropping it on the floor etc.this little guy sits right on my guitar and is there whenever I need it. And, no big meter hanging off the end of the tuning pegs.

EADGBE only. Won't do nonstandard tunings like drop-D or DADGAD. Don't be fooled by "12-note" in the product description.
This tuner works well and is very accurate when you want to tune to standard tuning (EADGBE).However, it won't do nonstandard tunings at all. Not even the slightest, simplest nonstandard tuning will work. This makes it completely useless for many guitarists.By nonstandard, I don't just mean that it's locked to A-440 (though that is true, it's made very clear in the spec, and that's not a problem for me, I always play with A-440 folks.) What I mean is: as soon as I try to tune anything other than EADGBE, then I'm hosed. After verifying it worked well in standard tuning, the very next thing I tried to do was to drop my low E to a D for drop-D tuning. It wouldn't even detect the note at all! It's like the low D is outside of its allowable range for tuning. Drop-D is the most common, simplest, easiest nonstandard tuning on the acoustic guitar, and this tuner can't handle it at all.So if it won't go down to drop-D, then DADGAD, the second most common nonstandard tuning, won't work either, since the low D is the same in that case. I didn't even bother to try it.I did try chromatic tunings, like trying to tune a string either a semitone higher or lower. For instance, I sometimes play in an open-Eb tuning of Eb A# D# G Bb Eb. This does not work either, this tuner has no indicator for notes like Eb or D#. It just indicates that those notes are incorrect (off-pitch from their nearest diatonic neighbor). This surprised me since the product description (and even the instructions that come with the unit) said that it works on a 12-note even-tempered scale. 12 notes means all the notes in the scale, not just the diatonic notes, and not just the six notes of the standard guitar tuning. Though, now that I look at the tuner, the indicator on the face only has positions for EADGBE and nothing else, so that should have been a hint.On the other hand, when you *are* tuning to standard tuning, this is *great*. It is very accurate and hard to confuse with environmental noise. I'm guessing that the very thing that prevents it from doing nonstandard tunings is the very thing that makes it so accurate for standard tunings. By deliberately filtering out the frequencies which don't apply to the six standard EADGBE notes, it can hone in on those particular pitches with razor sharp accuracy. So, if you ever play in nonstandard tunings, either don't buy this tuner, or, have a backup tuner for those times. Even though the limitation appears to be "by design", I wish the product description had been more clear on this point. The product description clearly said: "Scale: 12-note equal temperament" and that's why I thought I could buy this thing and be happy with it.*UPDATE*Shortly after writing this review, I found out that there is another model of the same tuner that is chromatic!http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NKD1JYKIf you want chromatic, get that one instead!I saw, at another web site which sells musical gear, the page for the Rimpitch tuner has a selector for which model you want: "Chromatic", or "Guitar Tuning". In the same way that some web sites have the size of a product, this other web site had the two different tuner styles. This was really clear, and I wish Amazon had done that for this tuner! Then I would have bought the correct one to start with!Still only one star, for both Amazon and the product's own packaging and instructions not making it clear that this model won't work for nonstandard tunings.

good concept and design, just keeps falling apart
Seemed to work ok as a tuner but the metal clips that hold on the outside facing wing/arms (seen facing up, on each end of the tuner in the pic shown)have zero integrity. After removing the tuner from my guitar, for about the fifth time, the metal clip fell out. I put it back together but only after noticing how very flimsy the clip was. Hoping it was a one time issue I disregarded it. However, the small metal clips keep falling out, or slipping out of the slit in the rubber are/wing and is making contact(metal) with the rim of my acoustic guitar.
