Lonely Planet Greek Islands (Travel Guide) Paperback – 1 March 2016

This was invaluable for my trip to the islands. It allowed me to research and plan where I wanted to go. Great advice and information about the Greek Islands, places to stay, eat, cultural activities, travel resources, emergency information and maps.

I am going to Athens and Santorini both of which are well covered in it. Lots of really useful information which is not available in other shorter books. Down side is that it is less portable. Won't fit in a pocket . However if like myself you love Greece and its islands it is well worth having.

A must have: plenty of useful practical informations to help you organism your journey as well as a good cultural guide.

Die Aufteilung mit den Festen nach Monaten, der besten Reisezeit und Tourenvorschlägen zum spazieren, wandern oder begehrter Sportarten sind einfach klasse.Die Fotos inspirieren mich auch immer zum Besuch der besonderen Plätze - ich meine man findet nicht in jedem anderen Reiseführer so gut recherchierte Informationen und Geheimtipps.Der Reiseführer hier eignet sich auch prima für ein Inselhopping, weil eben die mehrheitliche griechische Inselwelt abgebildet wird.Jederzeit wieder ein lonely planet Reiseführer.

Super useful. I liked the maps and the tips were very helpful. (I generally tend not to rely on LP for accommodation or food recommendations, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the food recommendations here overlapped with the choices recommended by local friends/hosts.) Has the various islands, and also a great section on Athens (which saved me from having to buy a separate mainland guide just for the capital).
