Super Sprouter
I have tried sprouting in jars and special stacked containers before, but aways had varying degrees of success only because it is hard to be rinsing the sprouts every few hours when I am away at work most of the day. My friend recommended this to me after having great success with it. The container is a little fiddly to put together, main trick i find is that the plastic tube has to be wedged tightly in, tight! The instructions are easy to follow, and the only area I would recommend improvement is that the black out cover they give is a little skimpy, so you need to really fiddle with it to make sure both the top and bottom of the container is covered when you want no light to hit your sprouts. But, easy fix, I draped another piece of cloth of the whole thing and it worked well, it also doubles up as a catchall for drips when I change out the water, because yes, it will drip a lot when you first remove the trays. I love that the spray is automated and kicks in according to the seasonal setting you put it on. And two trays is a bonus, because you can sprout two different sprouts in one go. The first time I used it, I had so many successful sprouts it was like an overkill, it filled up a huge metal mixer bowl container and took us 2 weeks to finish it! Now that I know how successful this thing works, I will be putting much less seeds in the tray because the sprouting rate is like 99%! Much much better than my previous experiences of like 50-70% if I am lucky! And no more constantly remembering to rinse the sprouts out!

Works really well and doesn't stink
I am very happy with how the mung sprouts turned out, except I have seen them thicker, but this works, too. I change the water multiple times a day to prevent it from being stinky. Also every time I change water, I clean off the walls of the water bowl. The result is very crispy and yummy sprouts. After they are done, I break off each root individually, and they are so crispy, that it's easy to do. There are probably more productive ways to do this, but I don't want to lose any of the length. Overall, I'm very happy. Can rely on this machine to provide me with fresh and consistent sprouts.

It works with minor added on
First two times, it didn't work well because the bean sprouts turned purple/pinkish even with the gray cover on (that came with the purchase). After I put a dark color bath towel wrapped around it with no chance of light to get in, it works great! I have a little advice for the buyers. (1) I soaked mung bean seeds at least 24 hours, so between 24 -48 with warm water. (2) I selected "winter" option (bean sprouts will be ready 15 hours early, about 3 days total). Temperature inside my house is 66 F. (3) I only changed water once a day. Total 3 times including the initial water at the starting of the sprout. So, after the initial water, I changed the water 2 times then it was ready to eat. It was delicious, long, white and sweet. For those who does care about organic seeds, but mung bean seeds from Asian market for $1.79 for a package. It used to be only $99. One package, you can get 6-8 batches.

Very Disappointing – Leaked and Stopped Working
I was really hoping this bean sprout machine would make growing sprouts easy, but after just a few uses, water started leaking out of the bottom. It completely emptied itself out and stopped keeping the sprouts moist, so nothing would grow. I tried resetting and cleaning it, but it still wouldn’t work right. Definitely not worth the money — very frustrating experience. I'm certainly hoping that the seller will reach out and make this right.

I love it. Easy to use and perfect results
I just finished my first Mung bean sprouting. It was effortlessly. Soak the seeds over night, wash and fill the Reservoir with water, put the beans in the trays put on the cover and push the button. It’s that easy. Change the water everyday. Two days later perfectly sprouted mung beans. I thought the directions were very clear and on the Amazon ad there are even pictures. Update: I tried spouting alfalfa seeds. I ended up with almost a third of them washed down into the water reservoir. I still like the machine please note it’s doesn’t do the small seeds like alfalfa

Decent quality, budget friendly...........I grow tons of sprouts with this thing!!!
I grow tons of sprouts with this inexpensive electronic sprouter!!! I use only 1 tray in my sprouter because harvests are more consistent with uniform growth. Through trial and error I was able to fine tune my protocol to avoid issues like mould. I also modified the exterior of the bowl by applying electric tape on the outside to prevent light intrusion permanently.........no more struggling with that damn shower cap thingy!!! I also have a plant lamp which I use for 2 days prior to harvest and I use distilled water exclusively during the entire growth cycle along with a post-harvest ozone bath.........this dramatically reduces mould issues.

Oh my goodness. Take care.
At first it was perfect. After awhile, I noticed some black stuff on the whirling mechanism. I tried to get the black stuff out with a toothpick but ended up unscrewing the screws. YUCK!!! A ton of black stuff!!! I’ve cleaned the two parts and left Clorox cleanup to sit on it for a few minutes to clean them completely. Keep an eye on the whirler, and unscrew it periodically to clean.

Super productive, but...
You *HAVE* to follow the directions and rinse it out a few times a day. Personally, I rinse it out at least 6 times a day (usually more). Even with frequent rinsing, you'll find that the water is bit brown and stinky for the first day or two. Keep at it and don't despair. It goes away as the sprouts grow. The product is FAR superior to the other sprouting methods I've used before. The Handy Pantry Seed Sprouting Kit (ASIN B0015ZNN9Y) is great but THIS sprouter forces the mung bean sprouts to grow tall and straight (I guess they are seeking the light thru the lid). Are they as big as store bought? No. Commercial production of sprouts use equipment and methods unavailable to the home grower. Are they bigger and better than the jar or tray method? By far! FWIW, the container I received was a translucent green color, not transparent green as shown in the product photo. Doesn't affect anything, just pointing it out.

I love mine...I have had it for a few years. If it smells you aren't changing the water frequently enough or your water is too warm. If your seeds are small and falling through the tray make some fine mesh screens out of screen door material to sit down in the trays. You can wash and reuse them.

I love this machine, 3 days and your eating beansprouts , Tip- Buy your beans at Walmart or Food Basics 6$ -7$ for 4lbs. I got ripped off here on Amazon, I paid 28$ for 500 grams, I could have got 16lbs at Walmart or Food Basics for 28$.
