I rarely leave reviews, but these are worth it. In the photos this product is the black set of LED reels which are much much better quality. Let’s just say it took me more than a few hours to find LED strip lights that tick all the boxes: 5050 LEDs (that’s the LED size—so you can actually see them and they have better output), at least 30 LEDs per metre (which these have), a waterproof plastic coating to ensure longevity (check), app control (check), full RGB for a wide range of colours (check), the ability to run two strips of lights from one plug rather than being stuck with a single long strip from a USB (massive plus), a remote, and—bonus—they apparently connect to Alexa or similar. These ones are also reasonable priced. I assumed all of the above was standard, because I bought my own LED strip lights about five years ago with zero research and they came with all those features (minus the Alexa compatibility). The reason I’m so pleased with this purchase is because I’d ordered a set just before these, again without any research—and they were absolutely terrible. Sub-par doesn’t even cover it. It seems like 99% of the LED strip lights online are WISH-level rejects: very poor quality and a complete scam. I hope you can see from the comparison photos how thin and low quality the other LED strip lights were These are for a birthday gift, so when the low-quality ones arrived, I had to spend a LOT of time hunting down this decent set instead. I’ll try to include comparison photos between this product and the sub-par WISH-reject lights that seem to be flooding nearly every app and retailer online right now. P.s:- I will be back to update this review if I have any issue with them. These light maybe waterproof but only for say a bit of a spill, to maintain them I wouldn’t recommend putting them outside as that’s asking for trouble. A bit like when you buy a waterproof watch, you don’t leave it in the swimming pool “because it’s waterproof”.

We laid this down and when we went to use them couldn’t understand why they weren’t working. My husband then discovered that they were split in two places. Will pay the extra money next time to go for a more robust set. Sending these back as faulty.

I cut these lights up to provide lighting under a desk and above the desk underneath a shelf, using various L and T shape connectors it was pretty straight forward to get up and running. Using the Magic home app made setting these up a breeze, it's a shame they're not compatible with a more universal application like Smart life. After about two months of use the lights started randomly turning off and back on about a minute later. The power supply was glowing red hot and had failed. I've replaced the power supply for a more premium version at a cost of £8.49 for a 12v 3a supply which is running much cooler and has kept the LED's going once more. The tape that secures the strips also isn't the greatest and I've had to put better double sided carpet tape in areas to keep it well attached. Note to manufacturer: Upgrade your power supply units and get better tape! UPDATE: The vendor reached out to me and was more than helpful in sending a complete replacement unit. Although the product has some quirks the vendor is extremely helpful if you have any issues with your product and I would highly recommend on the basis you may need to use additional securing tape when using long strips.

Purchased these LED's for my garden wall. Physically installing the lights was easy although you will need to purchase extra items such as connectors. Once installed you need to download the Magic Home app which again is straight forward. Now this is where the whole product is let down by the shocking instructions and app. You need to connect your phone to the LED's via wifi. To do this is a nightmare and hardly ever works. Disconnect from your normal wifi and connect to the LED's it says. I have done this several times and have only ever managed once to be able to operate the lighting from the app. If the product had a good app and set of instructions then I would have no problem recommending them but at present I think there are much better systems out there.

Ok so, they are excellent lights....just dont cut them, unless its at an end point. Going round corners with these things is difficult if not impossible even with the special right angle connectors you can buy. You can make the joint, but it seems that if just the right amount of pressure is not applied then the resulting connection doesn't work nd only half your lights will come on. I found this out to my peril and had to buy a second set for my bar - tried everything even soldering the joints....that didn't end well either. The music function works well however the music will have to be on your phone in order for the lights to flash, streaming from amazon or spotify will not make the lights dance. There is a work round by using the MIC function where the apps listenes for the beat through your phones MIC but its not as good IMO
