Great Series - Adventure, Mythology and Overcoming Fears...
My 8 year old son loved this book and the "Heroes in Training" series! This series is a fun, inventive way to introduce children to mythology. The Olympians are 10 year olds who must discover their powers and overthrow the Titans. Along with introducing the mythological characters and creatures, the book provides a nice message of overcoming fears and discovering oneself. Zeus, terrified of lightning storms, must learn to embrace his new powers, and rather than starting as a powerful god, he is happy attempting to be a hero. I read this first book in the series out loud to my 5 and 8 year old sons on a car trip. They enjoyed the adventure and sometimes cheesy humor. Then my 8 year old devoured the following books in the series. I was happy to find a series for him that he would actually chose to read over playing video games! Highly recommended.

Well written
I love the way this is set up as a view from a youth getting to know their world. So many stories i read about the greek gods are all about them as adults. I am glad someone thought about making the old gods young and making them learn about their powers. Not 5 stars as i feel that the author rushed the story forward a bit fast at the beginning.

6-yr-old's favorite chapter book so far
My kindergartener and I have been desperately seeking suitable reading material to meet his ever growing needs. This series, so far is a challenging read for him with plenty of new vocabulary and has the ability to keep him interested in the story in spite of the lack of pictures. I think it is the right mix of fun and adventure to keep him going, though it didn't turn out to be the page turner I had hoped for. Here is what my son says: It was the best chapter book on my Kindle. Because it's very exciting, and it's full of fun and adventure. Every part is my favorite part. I could read it to my best friend if we have another playdate.

Kept my sons interest!
My 11 year old son is not a kid who would choose to sit down and read on his own but he did with this book! He did enjoy it, but it was a fast read for him, so it may be a better read for a kid a little younger.

Wish it was longer.
After reading the goddess girls series by the same authors, I decided to try this one. It was actually pretty amusing, considering the fact that Zues is ten years old in this book and I'm a seventh grader. But I wish it were longer. I read really fast, and if I hadn't stopped reading it, I could've had it done in less than forty fiveMinutes. Other than that it was fine, and I might read at least to book three.

Funny, original and clever
This is about an under-explored part of Greek mythology: the childhood of the gods and heroes! It’s funny and clever. Both my 5 and 8 year old loved it, but if you are looking for a book for a child to read alone, the reading age would be an average 7-8 year old. Read it aloud for your bedtime story though!
