Item description says for use under 12000 RPM. I was using with a 11000 RPM DeWalt grinder and it left blue melt marks all over. I was not heavy handed using a lot of pressure.Also says 7/8" in thickness, but is 5/8". I would recommend the Avanti Pro Quick Strip Disc which is more expensive but significantly more effective.Thanks for quick shipping, but would recommend other choices.

The discs strip paint on metal effectively, if you use a light touch. If you're heavy handed, it will mark the metal.They even work surprisingly well on powder coat. But, again, you need a light touch to not overheat the coating, which will smear smear it instead of removing it.If you want to remove rust, this disk will remove light surface rust nicely, but beyond that, it's not a good choice. When the disc heats up from friction, the plastic non-woven material melts, leaving streaks on the work.Honestly, even though this isn't an advertised feature of the disc, I was hoping to use them to blend welds. This disc will absolutely not blend welds, nor will they remove mill scale prior to welding - no points deducted, just FYI.If you use them only to remove paint or scuff metal prior to paint, the discs are very durable.
