Marshall Stanmore II Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, White - NEW

I don’t think my review will quite do the justice this speaker deserves, it is hands down the best audio equipment I have ever purchased. If anything happened to my Marshall Stanmore Speaker, my only option would be to buy this exact same one again. Breakdown on why I’m SO obsessed: It sounds amazing and has such power behind it, it’s like getting high quality stereo speakers quality in a semi-portable Speaker - TRULY! Plus, it looks FANTASTIC and I love the vintage style they are going for even though it also has Bluetooth capabilities. It has a sort of leather feel to the surface, and it really just looks stylish. The best thing about the Marshall Speaker is you can adjust the Volume, Treble, and Bass on top of the speaker via dials you turn. They light up to show what level you are at. The highest volume on the Bass absolutely blew me away! There is also the traditional white and red audio hook up ports in the back as well. There’s only one small hang up: Above I said “semi-portable”, yes I’m pointing out the main only drawback. The speaker does have to be plugged into an outlet to work. I don’t consider that 100% portable. It doesn’t hold any charge, and will not work unless plugged in. (I’m assuming that it just takes too much power to play as loud and with such quality to not be plugged in 24/7.) I’ve had my Speaker for over two years now, I haven’t had one single tiny issue. It still sounds just as great as the day I got it. It’s only gotten a tiny scuff over the years, and I’m rough on my stuff so it’s held up great. If you’re looking to pay a bit more for one of these bad boys, I HIGHLY recommend it.

If you just care about the sound, get this. It sounds awesome. I mean, how such a (relatively) small speaker can deliver this quality of sound, I have no idea. It looks great, it sounds awesome and it's portable and easy to move around...so whats there to dislike? Well, so far, I haven't been able to use Bluetooth with it so I have to connect to it with a cable (I know, so 20th century!). The issue is that Marshall hasn't released PC software (so my laptop is out) and when I tried to download the app to my Android it didn't let me because my Android wasn't the latest generation. Very annoying. So, i guess I have to buy a new new phone so I can use Bluetooth in my new expensive speaker. Not an ideal solution. But it's difficult to be pissed about it because the darn heavy little box sounds sop darn good! So, if you have the newest Android or you don't mind to use a cable to connect, get this speaker. You won't find a better sound for the price. Update 4/26/19 (now it's 5 stars) I haven't had any power issues as reported by other reviewers. I use it almost every day and the sound is as good as it was the first time. I originally gave this speaker 4 stars because of the issues I had with the wireless connection but honestly....who cares? With a speaker that sounds this good and looks so stylish it deserves 5 stars. I have other means to listen to music and I always go back to this little guy. That's the best recommendation I can give. Update 7/18/19 As I type this I'm listening "O Fortuna" from "Carmina Burana" blaring from this speaker and I don't get how be it can be labeled as "mediocre" sounding. Of course it's not stereo sound...it's not supposed to be. That's like asking a Prius to accelerate like a Ferrari and then complain it's too slow. For a stand alone small speaker, this is outstanding as long as you don't expect something that it's not. Is it expensive? Yes it is but, as usual, you get what you pay for and in this case, its quality, reliability and a great sound in a small package. Highly recommended as long as you know what you are buying.

I was making a choice between an amplifier and speakers or the Marshall speaker to hook up to my Fluance turntable in a small home office. I ordered the Marshall to see what it would sound like and if I didnt like it I'd return it and get the amplifier and speakers. I love it. Not returning. Deep sound, you can adjust the treble and bass locally or remotely w bluetooth. Great quality, nice and heavy, with really nice looking controls and led indicators. Plus w the bluetooth I can listen to any songs from my Iphone. However. Updated review. Missing Pre-Amp. I tried connecting to my Fluance turntable. No sound. The Marshall has no pre-amp which my turntable requires.

This is the third marshall in my home. Acton 1 Woburn 3 Stanmore 2 The sound quality is expected from marshall speakers, sounds chambered (love it), not so clear in medium-high frequency as the top notch woburn3 as it does not have dedicated speakers for this. (Need to tune bass and treble to sound like woburn3). It sounds really close to my marshall acton (first version) (very pleasant sound) but with more bass. I”ll recommend it if you find a discount like black friday. The build quality is excelent. I’m playing it from radio reciever to rca as i build a sound system of marshalls and subwoofer (all wirelessly). The main speaker is the woburn 3 (front) The stanmore 2 is playing at the rear with the subwoofer, it does a very nice job complementing the main speaker and sub. The auto on/off works but only turning it off, i have to wake up with a button. If i need another speaker i would buy marshall again, never disappointed me.

The speaker itself is awesome. I had bought an Acton for my bedroom at Best Buy and liked it so much got the Stanmore for my living room. Liked that so much I bought another to pair them. The sound is incredible and you'll hear details you've never heard before. I'm geeking out relistening to my favorite classical and jazz music. I like the sound so much I decided to buy a second to couple them. This is confusing, because you can only couple them if they are the same model name, and you can only tell the model name by looking at the back of the unit (not from any information on the box or the product listing.) There are three different model names for the Stanmore II: Stanmore II, Stanmore II Bluetooth, and Stanmore II BT. The BT model can only couple with itself. My first speaker is a Stanmore II, but I bought a second and it was a Stanmore II BT so I have to return it. And like I said, the only way to know for sure is to look at the back of the unit so if you're buying online or at a store you have to open the box and physically look at the back of the unit. It seems as though the newer units are the BT models.

UPDATE on 5/1/2022. Submitted a warranty claim due to the broken unit after 3 months. The warranty claim service was very quick and efficient, and I received a brand new unit within days. The replacement unit has been working flawlessly. UPDATE on 3/1/2022. After less than 3 months of using the product (infrequently, mostly at night and during the weekend), it broke. I can no longer turn on the speaker (by pulling the power lever forward). The power source is connected as I tried multiple different sockets, and the three lights associated with the input sources (Bluetooth, AUX, etc.) are all lit in solid. Since this is outside the 30 day window, I'm currently trying to see if this can be repaired under warranty. This Marshall Stanmore II speaker produces amazing sound. Mid and high ranges are particularly impressive. It is loud enough to fill my house. Though, I enjoy it most when it is at 80-90% volume where it is loud enough but not too overwhelming. Notes are still crisp and clear at low volume when I do use it at night. It is an amazing package for playing music in a room/house (may find its power a bit underwhelming if you want to use it outdoor or in a large stage though, which is not what this speaker is intended for). The speaker is small/light enough that I can easily move it around the house when needed, but not having a rechargeable battery means it has to be near an electrical socket.

So, I am using this is a less conventional set up than most. I bought this for use with my home office set up, connecting it to my computer, to provide audio for meetings, and to stream music at other times. I have connected it both via Bluetooth and also using a 3.5mm audio cable (not provided) to my computers audio output. And I have been thrilled with the results. Set up was easy, and with the free app (does anything come without a free app anymore), you get a lot of control over the sound settings. For comparison, I use a pair of Klipsch The Three using PlayFi for my main room audio, and the Marshall has way more EQ settings and customizations. In terms of audio quality and volume, it's exactly what you would expect from a Marshall speaker - forward, full, and responsive. It's admittedly a little bit of an overkill for audio for an online meeting, but it's really there for music streaming when I'm not in a meeting. Very pleased with it and would buy again.

Un tocco di classe in sala! Acquistata la versione bianca la cassa Marshall suona che è una meraviglia, messa accanto e collegata ad un bel giradischi crea un angolo vintage eccezionale e di qualità. Il collegamento via bluetooth necessita dell app marshall disponibile sia per apple che per android, collegata la prima volta poi sara sufficiente accendere la cassa con il suo interruttore on off e si collegherà automaticamente al vostro telefono, tablet o qualsiasi altro dispositivo. La qualità del suono è eccellente, i bassi profondi vivendo in un appartamento non riesco a superare mai la metà del volume altrimenti si sente troppo forte! La consiglio a tutti un gioiellino per gli amanti della musica

Lo Stanmore II è uno speaker formidabile, non mi sono messo a fare valutazioni strumentali come pare siano in grado di fare quelli che se ne intendono sul serio, ho usato le mie orecchie e la mia esperienza: il suono è avvolgente, potente e (secondo me) bassi, medi e alti sono sempre ben rappresentati, connettività completa di attacchi analogici, bluetooth pronto e immediato che non molla mai, estetica (per me) insuperabile e iconica. Mi è talmente piaciuto questo diffusore sonoro che ho deciso di comprarne un altro per creare un sistema stereo e qui arriva il "MA": Quello che non viene detto, se non spulciando le pagine di assistenza sul sito della casa madre, è che esistono tre SOTTO-MODELLI di questo speaker che non sono totalmente compatibili tra loro! Sull’etichetta posta dietro al dispositivo (E NON SULLA SCATOLA) è specificato il nome del sotto-modello che può essere:”STANMORE II” o “STANMORE II BT” o “STANMORE II BLUETOOTH”. Bisogna combinarli tra loro in modo che siano compatibili, in base all'immagine che allego alla recensione, altrimenti non si riuscirà, sempre usando l'app dedicata, a creare un sistema stereo bluetooth, ovvero a far suonare entrambe le casse contemporaneamente, una per il canale destro e una per il sinistro. Questo più o meno vale anche per altre combinazioni con altri modelli, bisogna controllare il nome scritto dietro. A me ne è arrivata una non compatibile con quella che avevo già, ho chiesto la sostituzione ad Amazon (prontamente ottenuta) e questa volta è arrivata quella giusta... a cu... hem, per fortuna. Ho scritto di questo alla Marshall, ma la risposta è stato lo schemino che allego alla recensione. Sono riuscito a fare quello che volevo, ma con un altro "MA", una volta collegate insieme col bluetooth, non si possono più usare gli altri ingressi (proprio non funziona il tastino), se non resettando entrambe le casse... In conclusione: Suono spettacolare Design splendido Utilizzo in singolo comodissimo e praticissimo Utilizzo in coppia abbinata... un disastro. Comunque se ne viene fuori, ma non è immediato. In ogni caso 5 stelle perché l'oggetto mi piace un sacco!

Remarquable sonorité. Mais ce n'est pas en sortant de l'emballage après une livraison matinale que l'enceinte donnera tout son potentiel. Le caisson était froid et les heures à la température ambiante avant le branchement au secteur ne seront qu'une première étape vers une progression significative de performance les heures suivantes. Il ne faut donc pas tirer de conclusion hâtive dès la première mise en service, car les haut parleurs de cette enceinte, comme toute enceinte neuve, ont besoin d'être sollicités durant un certain temps pour reproduire le son avec plus de réalisme et d'ampleur. Utilisation sans faille en Bluetooth et liaison filaire RCA, mais l'on note une réduction de dynamique avec un câblage Jack Jack à la prise correspondante. Le son manque de punch, les basses, à fond, sont moins accentuées et le réglage des aiguës à peine perceptible. Dans la mesure du possible il vaut mieux remplacer un cordon (Jack Jack) de faible section par un câble RCA Jack. Le son sera de meilleur qualité avec ce conducteur qui, dans un sens ou dans l'autre, se branche aux deux entrées de l'enceinte. Côté pratique, le levier marche arrêt n'a qu'une position fixe et non deux comme on pourrait le croire. Il bascule vers l'avant pour allumer ou éteindre l'enceinte et reprend sa place initiale. Dans les deux cas un bruit sourd se fait entendre dans le haut parleur grave. Chaque bouton de commande a son voyant lumineux, les potentiomètres de volume, grave et aiguës affichent leur état et la lumière de l'ensemble des touches s'atténue quelques secondes après la mise en marche. Le design vintage, la couleur ou la dépendance au secteur, l'un ou l'autre n'est peut pas celui recherché, mais la sonorité exceptionnelle de cette enceinte est indiscutablement une réussite inégalable dans cette catégorie. Ceci est également vrai en tenant compte du bon rapport qualité-prix, à moins de 243€.
