Charming in every way
This book was purchased as a replacement for our first copy that has been worn out over many years. It is a favorite in our home for sure. The illustrations are fantastic. Put my kids to sleep with this book and now it is time to start with the grandkids. Buy this book. You won’t be sorry.

Beautiful illustrations
I picked this book up for me because of the beautiful artwork. The detail, color and composition make you wish you could take a seat in the woods and experience the forest first hand. But then, I realized this book also caught the attention of my son. At 12 months old, he began to bring books to my husband and I to read, and this was one of his selections often. To my delight, a few months later, he started imitating the actions of stretching, yawning, sneezing and scratching as I read. At 18-months old, he still gets excited to read this book, and I still love studying the artwork (to find the well-hidden McCue (the artist) signatures)...I've only found a few when there's a bouncing boy on your lap.

A must have!
This book is amazing. The artwork is beautiful and the story captivates the audience. It’s been a special part of bedtime routine for 20+ years w our family. I was happy to get a copy to pass to a close family friend. A must have!

Just ok, not a great story
Beautiful illustrations and very sturdy board book. The font is small and it seems quite wordy for a young child’s board book. I wasn’t too impressed with the story itself either. The board book In My Meadow is better I think. Four stars for the beautiful images and use of color.

The Sweetest Book Ever
This is just the most precious book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story invites interaction with the child by having them make the sounds in the story, such as a bee buzzing or a sneeze. I can't imagine anyone not loving this book. But don't get all sentimental about bunnies and run out and get one for your young child- they require a lot of space and adult attention to be happy, so stick to the pictures in the book, unless you do your research on caring for bunnies and have lots of extra time on your hands (and who does, with young children?)

This is the story my 18 month granddaughter's parents read ...
This is the story my 18 month granddaughter's parents read to her at bedtimes so I purchased a copy to use at nap time. She loves it and she asks me to read it over and over. Lovely illustrations. She stretches and yawns in the appropriate places. Doesn't fall asleep but can't blame that on the book.

I'm shocked by all the great reviews for this book.
I love the illustrations, and parts of the book, but it seems as some pages are missing in my copy. It says "--he heard a Cock Cock Cock-a-doodle Doo! What was that?" And then there is no mention of a rooster! What is up with that? Is it just my book or is it all of them? If this is the way the book is supposed to be, then I don't understand how it even made it to print! So strange!I think I may have to go back to buying books in actual book stores than online so I can read them first before buying them. I usually trust the reviews, but none of them mentioned that it seems like parts were missing. I'm surprised that it didn't bother more people. I don't think I even want to read this to my child. It will just confuse him.

Another family favourite
Beautiful new illustrations for a classic prose tale. Imagery is lovely, with lots of sights and sounds. Highly recommended as one of baby's first books.

The most adorable illustrations in a children's book, ever.
I have another board book illustrated by Lisa McCue--My First Mother Goose--and all three of my children seemed to love the sweet and detailed illustrations, so I decided to order another of her books for my youngest child, who is 15 months old.I was not disappointed when the book arrived--the illustrations are some of the most charming and adorable I've ever seen in a children's book--and I've seen many books! The little bunny looks so sweet and innocent, and each picture looks so bright and cheerful. There is a lot of detail in the pictures too--little bugs, flowers and birds that parents and children can point out together.Lisa McCue is really a very talented artist and I can't fully describe how beautiful the illustrations are in this book. My son seemed to enjoy looking through the book, although I admit the text seemed a bit lengthy to hold his attention. I expect that as he gets a bit older he'll be able to sit through the whole book.Definitely, this darling book stands on the merit of its illustrations. I think it would make a lovely gift for baby showers or new babies.
