Use 3 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a quart of water and rinse your hair after shampooing and conditioning to remove the chemical build up in your hair. This process will restore the PH balances to your scalp for super healthy hair.

Hard transition but worth it
This may be a long post but it has to be to do justice to the product.I have stick straight, super fine long hair. And I have a lot of it. Even though it's fine, it is really thick. I also have allergies to sulfates and most fragrances. Finding traditional shampoo is a pain. I did find one that works for me (A'kin gentle shampoo). I love it but I have to order it from the UK and it can take awhile to ship. So I decided to try shampoo bars since they tend to be more natural and gentle. I figured a variety pack would be best so I could experiment without spending a ton of money. I'm only on day 3 so I may have to update later.Day 1- I used the voodoo black bar, the conditioning bar, and the rinse. I was disappointed. My hair looked greasy and flat. But I had read there was a transition period and didn't give up.Day 2- I used the rosemary and mint bar and the apple cider rinse. While wet my hair felt gross and I was upset. But when my hair dried it looked better. Not greasy but still flat.Day 3- I decided to try the beer bar and rinse. My hair is not greasy at all and has a bit more volume than normal. Needless to say but I'm happier now.My conclusion: My hair just isn't suited for the conditioning bar. It smell lovely but I just don't have enough texture in my hair for that much oil. Once I figured out a good technique the shampoo is great and I love the rinse.Update: I'm now a week in and my hair already feels thicker. I'm not washing it every day. I haven't washed my hair since Saturday (today is monday) and it still looks and feels clean.

Love the simplicity of a shampoo bar.
I wanted to wait a full month before I left my review. It has been 4 weeks now and this is a keeper. I have been using WEN for a couple of years and wanted something a little cheaper and more travel friendly. ( I was satisfied with WEN and had no problems) I had never heard of shampoo bars so I did some research and decided to try Beauty and the Bees. From the first day I was pleased. I don't think I went through a transition phase, per se, but I did notice that after about 2 weeks my hair looked better than when I first started using the product. Even though I use Moroccan oil, I have not had to use the vinegar rinse. Nor do I use conditioner. I have not had any type of build up or residue. Furthermore, I have noticed that my hair takes less time to dry and it has more texture. As I said, I'm in my 4th week and I am only on my second sample bar, so they last a long time. ( I wash my hair about 5 days a week) When this runs out, I will buy a full size bar, probably the rosemary mint since that is my favorite scent.

Nice sample pack, typical results for solid shampoos.
I've tried one bar so far, and the results are typical for a solid shampoo bar with conditioning oils. If you are used to using solid shampoo then you will be pleased. I use apple-cider vinegar rinse after shampooing to remove any residue and make my hair shiny and easy to comb. The sample sizes are approximately 1/4 - 1/3 of an inch thick and I quite a few shampoos out of a bar even with thick below shoulder length hair.I cannot review the scents because I have no sense of smell but nobody ran away from me holding their noses or sneezing violently.

Couldn't handle the smell
I really wanted to like these. I read all the good reviews and had high hopes. I expected an adjustment period, so I did try these three or four times, following the instructions and using the apple cider rinse. The first one I tried (because it seemed to be the highest rated of the bunch) was the beer one. I liked the way it felt on my hair; it smelled a little odd, but could have been worse and so I started out optimistic. However, throughout the day, the odd smell just got stronger and stronger. It was pretty bad by the end of the day -- so much so, that it was a complete turn off to my husband. He could hardly bear to hug me that night. So, the next day, I thought I'd try a different scent -- I picked the lemon this time. It smelled slightly different in the shower (though not much like lemon). With this one, though, it was hard to tell when it was all rinsed out. I thought I had rinsed well, but when I tried to dry my hair, there was a residue that stunk when using the hair dryer. So I hopped back in the shower and tried to rinse again. It helped a little, but the heat still made my hair stink! Both products actually smelled just the same when they got a little warm, so I guess what I was smelling was the base products that they use to create the solid bar. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I did try -- I tried one more time, even, with similar results. That was it...they got tossed in the trash!I did keep the apple cider rinse. It doesn't have an odor. I'm not sure if it will actually do much for me, but I've read so much about the benefits of an apple cider rinse that I decided it couldn't hurt to try.So in summary, this was a product that I liked the concept of, but I just couldn't stomach the execution. Too bad.

Hard water possibly interferes with functionality?
I ordered the sample box. This was my first attempt at using a bar shampoo. I am two days and two shampoos in to using this product- and am done. Perhaps it is the hard water in my home? My hair looks, feels and smells like I haven’t washed it in two weeks. Grimey. I’m not giving this product a low review, as I’m sure it works for many people- but I would really caution anyone with hard water at home to reconsider. (The unopened beer bottle in the photos is for scale)

There are pros and cons
I have very mixed feelings about this product. When I first washed my hair with this stuff I used the Moroccan Mud bar, which in retrospect perhaps was not the best choice for my fine, dead straight, not at all dry hair. I noticed that my hair was very waxy after rinsing the product out. I also used the conditioner bar and an AVC wash afterwards. Fast forward 3 days, I switched to the Tasmanian Beer bar, it may have been a result of the build up from the previous sample, but I didn't like the product; my scalp felt somewhat itchy, I was getting spots on the back of my neck and on my forehead, and I didn't like the way that my hair felt waxy.I didn't have much time in the next few days, so I used my conventional shampoo and conditioner for the next couple of days. The spots started to clear up from my forehead pretty quickly.I decided to give the natural approach another go. I upped the amount of vinegar in the AVC wash and started out with the beer bar, doing my best to keep the shampoo off my forehead. I gave it another 2 days and then switched to the Mint and Rosemary bar, which gave the best results for my hair by far.I liked how my hair had volume after nearly a week of using Beauty and the Bees products, it felt soft (although not silky) and it didn't tangle easily (huge bonus). On the other hand it left a weird residue on my hand if I ran it through my hair (a problem for me as I fiddle with my hair a lot, a reason why I need to wash it frequently), and it sort of stuck together when it moved, which was a bit odd.The main sticking point with the bars is that my skin does not enjoy the resultant layer of leftover wax. Despite doing my best to keep it off my forehead and washing thoroughly, the spots appeared again pretty quickly. My scalp doesn't quite feel normal on either conventional products or the bars at the moment, but hopefully it will settle down.

Great value
Great value, a great way to try out the different types, perfect when traveling, not as foamy as liquid shampoo but cleans hair just as well.

I really did give these products a chance, but was still left disappointed
Unfortunately I've had to give a low rating, as I couldn't find any pros from this product at all. I have thin, long hair that has been dried out after many years of daily washing with sulphate shampoos, and occasional colouring. I wanted to make my hair healthier again by using more organic methods, and gave this a try.I usually don't mind pricey products if they work, but paying a lot more money than usual for something that doesn't actually do anything is one of the reasons I gave two stars. They actually made my hair worse, which I'll get to later.Secondly is the use of the product. You need a lot of time and patience, which a lot of busy people probably don't have. It took me a while to lather up even a little shampoo from the bars, so much so that there were eventually angry knocks on the door- I had taken twice as long in the shower just trying to wash my hair!I'd like to say I gave these bars a chance- I used them for nearly two months with an open mind, but they left my hair feeling awful. They didn't leave my hair looking or feeling clean for a start. I kept telling myself that it was probably just a transition period after all those years of using sulphate shampoos, but I can only wait for so long until giving up on something. So not only did it still leave my hair greasy, it left a weird waxy residue as well. I've never come across something like this before. It literally felt like I had put glue in my hair. It made my hair limp and hard to brush. When I did eventually manage to get the brush through my hair, it was full of knots and I ended up pulling out so many strands that it worried me. The waxy residue would often come out on the brush as well, which was white and very sticky, as well as being extremely hard to wash off my fingers and brush- again, it was like glue. An ACV rinse helps with the residue, but only a little. And in the end my hair is still as greasy as if I'd never even washed it, defeating the whole point of getting this product in the first place.Maybe these shampoo bars have a different effect on different types of hair, but for me was more of a hassle than of help.

Not hugely impressive
I really wanted to like this product. I was wanting to sample them so i could buy full sized ones but after using them they made the familys and my hair feel sticky after washing. Even short hair was unable to comb through. It may just be our hair type i dont know. I liked the natural scents though, and it lathered well. The charcoal bamboo one did seem to take my daughters flaky scalp down a fair bit too so its not all bad.if i could find a decent natural conditioner to match i may buy the charcoal bamboo for that reason.
