Beautiful illustrations. Easily understood myths. My 6th grade students used it as a resource for adapting myths into plays

Some of the myths are told a bit more gently then the originals, but it's not too disneyfied either. Icarus dies, Prometheus gets his liver endlessly torn out , and there's a mountain of bones in the Minotaur's maze. The pictures are fantastic. They are detailed and engaging enough that an older child will love them, but there's nothing in the pictures that my two year old finds scary. When reading it out loud to a younger child, it's easy to skip over the scary bits.

The book is a comprehensive introduction of Greek Myths to children as well as to certain adults!Greek Myths, are part of man's beginning to explicate the mystery of the earth he lived on, and of the puzzling grandiosity of the sky that hovered above his head. Nowadays, criticism on Greek Myths, is simply redundant.Regards.Markos

This book has an organized layout. The myths are detailed enough to be fascinating with out dragging on for elementary age students. The writing is both accurate and not overly simplified. The illustrations are engaging. Best version of this topic for the second through fifth grader I have come across.

This is a nice introduction for young children to the Greek Myths. Illustrations are colorful and hold attention. Stories are not too long. But it is nothing terrific. Price was right as it was a used book and the quality was very good for a used book. Like new.I bought it to go along with gifts of Barbie dolls of the world in ancient Greek Dress. So it was nice to be able to give some backgrounds from for that purpose.

The book was a wonderful surprise and will make a special gift. The charming illustrations and classic myths written simply should attract young children to enjoy reading. I intend to order two more as gifts for great-grandchildren.

The book is well arranged and easy to read with enough stories and relevant illustrations to keep a six year old's interest.
