Works great with new TVs with no audio output
I recently purchased a new Samsung TV and I assumed it would have a digital optical output, but it didn’t. The only options I was left with were Samsung’s proprietary wireless protocol, Bluetooth, or HDMI Arc. I also didn’t want to have to buy a new soundbar since mine works so well still. I figured Arc would be better anyway so I went looking on the internet and found this adapter. Hooked it up and it worked instantly, i haven’t noticed any sound delay, and the sound quality is just as good as it was with my old TV. It is also small and light enough to where I was able to zip tie it to my wall mount so it is hidden and out of the way. I couldn’t be happier with this product. The price was definitely worth it, as the other option on the table was buying a new soundbar.

Awesome products!!
We installed TVs for our customers and we use these all the time. I've never had a problem with them and they worked perfectly right out of the box. Directions you don't even need them. It's that easy. I would recommend these to anyone.

Extremely Disappointing Performance and Unreliable Functionality
I recently purchased the avedio links 4K@60Hz HDMI Audio Extractor with high hopes of enhancing my audio experience, but this product has proven to be a major disappointment. Its performance and reliability fall far short of expectations, earning it a regrettable one-star rating.First and foremost, the most significant issue with this audio extractor is its inconsistent functionality. It frequently fails to extract audio as advertised, leaving me with no audio output or sporadic sound disruptions. This inconsistency is incredibly frustrating and defeats the purpose of using the extractor. The advertised support for 4K@60Hz and Full HD 1080P is misleading, as the performance of the device does not live up to these standards. The video output often suffers from signal loss or degradation, resulting in a degraded picture quality or intermittent blackouts. This is simply unacceptable for a product that claims to support high-resolution video formats. The audio output options, including HDMI, Optical Toslink SPDIF, and 3.5mm AUX Stereo Audio, are all affected by the same inconsistent functionality issues. None of these outputs reliably deliver the expected audio quality or consistency, making the device unreliable for any audio setup. The build quality of the device is also subpar. The plastic construction feels flimsy and cheap, and the connectors are not securely fitted. This lack of durability raises concerns about the long-term reliability and lifespan of the product.Additionally, the lack of proper customer support from avedio links adds to the frustration of dealing with this product. Attempts to seek assistance or resolve issues have proven fruitless, leaving customers to deal with their disappointment on their own.In conclusion, the avedio links 4K@60Hz HDMI Audio Extractor is a highly disappointing and unreliable product. Its inconsistent functionality, degraded video quality, unreliable audio outputs, and poor build quality make it a regrettable purchase. The lack of proper customer support further adds to the overall dissatisfaction.I strongly advise against purchasing this audio extractor. Investing in a more reputable and reliable alternative would be a wiser choice to ensure a satisfactory audio experience without the frustration and disappointment that this product brings.

Works well but don't waste time with the included HDMI
I had a need for this product for an Arcade1up mod project. Monitor (Dell 2007FPB) only accepts DVI, has no audio output or speakers. I had an issue with newest Retropie software (4.6.5) on pi 4 will not output analog audio to 3.5mm no matter what I do so I had to extract audio from HDMI before it go to the monitor.Anyway, throw away the included HDMI cable that comes with this. I was getting a blueish, grainy picture after booting with this installed. I did have the system up and running before installing this device and the included HDMI, so at least I knew where it was coming from. It seemed to go away when I wiggled the cable and extractor but I just had it loosely hanging while testing. I mounted all equipment, replaced the included HDMI cable with one of higher quality, booted the system and the problem was gone.Device works great now except for one other weird issue. My device was having trouble figuring out the native resolution of the monitor during a boot with a fresh OS, with this installed between the two. I had to boot the pi without this installed, connected directly to the monitor. I was previously getting an error, saying the resolution was out of range, don't remember the exact wording. Without this in the middle, they had no problem talking to each other. I just had to manually set the resolution on the device so the next boot was not a problem with the audio extractor installed in the middle.Other than those quirks, all is now bueno and audio sounds great.Connected to Lepai LP-2020TI amplifier and Cerwin Vega XED42 speakers and sounds great. Not HIFI but pretty good for an arcade cabinet.

Using as an adapter for new TV with no Digital Optical Out, but with HDMI - ARC
I recently upgraded my main family room TV with a bigger model, not realizing the new TV didn't have a digital optical audio out connection that I could use with my existing receiver/surround sound system like the older TV had. My old receiver doesn't have an HDMI in, only optical or analog inputs, so I needed an adapter, or a new receiver that has an HDMI port.I got this today, and the setup was fairly easy, however, since I am using this to get my audio from the TV sent to my receiver, and not using it with a device, I had the hookup confused. The TV HDMI ARC should be connected to the 'ARC HDMI OUT' on the device, not the 'HDMI IN'. Once I corrected it, it works well. The TV Audio Out is controlled by the TV, and the receiver volume is controlled by the receiver (the TV volume control doesn't control the receiver volume).I can't comment on the quality of the video, but it did save me from needing to purchase a newer receiver or soundbar in order to use my existing surround sound speakers with the new TV. Well worth the money and effort of installation.
