So Impressed!
The boys room in our house has had window condensation for about a year now. it's been driving me crazy. I couldn't figure out what it might be. Finally, I figured out the right combination of words for Google and realized it was the interior humidity that was causing the condensation. We rearranged the furniture so that nothing is blocking the forced air vent. Still lots of condensation in the room. The room just felt humid. So, on a whim, I bought this dehumidifier, hoping it would help.It came quickly and boxed well. I was skeptical that such a tiny thing would be much help but figured the room is small, so why not? It was easy to use; unwrap, plug, and go. I wish the cord was less in the way. It works best if it's plugged in to the right of the machine. Unfortunately we only have a plug to the left. It's not a problem but it's annoying my inner chi. ;)When we first plugged it in, it read 81% humidity in the air! Yeah, I'd say that's a humidity problem! After about 3 days, the tank was 3/4 of the way full! Holy wow! We've had it about a week and it's still filling a lot and quickly. We haven't been able to get the humidity under about 55% but that's a huge difference from 81!! We have it set for 45% humidity. I feel that this will be even more beneficial in the long run. I'm considering getting one for the girls room to help with the whole floor, but I'm not sure we'll need it.All in all, it's a great little machine that is well made, quiet and does what it's supposed to do well! The picture is of the desk in the boys room. With the dehumidifier on it. It's a tiny little thing, but boy does it work well! Basically, it's exactly what I was looking for. Something small for a small space, quiet, and powerful. If that's what you are looking for, then look no further! This is what you need.

Customizeable Fan
Short: Does work, I'm removing 12 ounces of water per day (unit claims up to 17, so 12 is pretty good). Not sure what negative reviewers are expecting, the product is meeting it's claims, I'm sure if it was 85 and 90% humidity it could do 17 ounces. Replacing the fan you'll need a 92mm fan as well as a 4 inch long P1 screwdriver, I only had a 3 and had to go buy one.Long: Says it can remove 17 ounces of water from the air per day, container holds 51 ounces, and my unit fills about 1/4 of the way every day. That's not 17 ounces per day, but it's still a good 12. I keep it in the brick laundry room of my 900 sq ft Florida home. That room used to sometimes produce a faint mildew smell which has drastically cut back since I started using this unit, so for the 22 dollars I paid I'm very content.Another reviewer said it used a 92mm computer fan and he was right, I bought a Noctua fan for $10 here on Amazon, disassembled the unit, found the ground and power wire for the Noctua fan and spliced/soldered it to the old fan lead. Works great, and now it's so quiet I have to be within 3 feet of it to even know if it's running. It was quiet before, but I wanted to know just how quiet it would be with a quality fan. I'm not 100% sure if the output is the same for this fan, but I can feel air rushing out of the side vents still. My favorite thing about this unit is that it's removing moisture from the air while also having a removable tray you can empty. Unlike units that have the moisture absorbing beads or other similar system you don't have to worry about buying refills for this unit, it just works. Also I'm emptying 50 ounces of water every 4 or 5 days from that room, those gel moisture absorbers wouldn't even come close to that. Great product, does what it says and can be made better with a 10 dollar fan if you know how to solder.

perfect for keeping mold from growing inside a parked car
March2023 update: Replaced failed power adapter with 12-volt laptop charger ($1 at second hand store). Cut off the round laptop connector and spliced in the 2-pin plug which came with the dehumidifier. Working fine again. The laptop charger runs cooler (thus more efficiently) than the original adapter. Hottest spot on ‘brick’ is about 22 F above ambient temp (see photo).Feb2023 Update: After about 2 yrs + 4 months of use, the AC-to-DC adapter failed. Dehumidifier won't turn on, transformer case does not heat up. When operating, the black adapter housing would heat up considerably, so some electrical component inside the adapter probably failed thermally. Replacement adapter with 2-prong plug costs over $30! Will buy a cheap adapter with barrel plug and then swap the plugs. Also, when dehumidifier turns on, it makes an annoying howling noise (fan bearing?) for a few minutes before settling down. But for the price, I will stick with 4 stars.Sep 2020 I purchased the Vremi 1-pint dehumidifier pictured above on Amazon. Still good after running continuously about 11 months. The device is well made and seems to be well designed, although I haven't had any reason to open it up. I am amazed that a device like this could be manufactured and sold for only $20! (As I write this, I see that the price has ballooned to about $45.) It works well for my intended purpose of preventing mold from growing inside my parked car in humid Puerto Rico, which happened when my car sat for a long time during the pandemic. The tank fills up after about a week in the humid season, after about a month in the dry season. My main complaint, and why I gave it only 4 stars, is that the unit does not restart after a power outage, which occurs at least once a week where I live. So I purchased a small UPS (cost 3x what the Vremi cost!) to keep it running around the clock. Keep in mind that this unit is not efficient, (Energy Star rated dehumidifiers are 5 to 10 times more efficient in terms of liters/kw-hr) but it does well at drying the inside of our car. I set it to 60% RH, which is adequate for preventing mold. The built-in RH sensor agrees fairly well with my high-quality hygrometer. Fan does make a bit of noise, I wouldn't want to sleep next to it. In a pinch, it can be powered directly from the car battery (draws 37 watts) via the cigarette lighter socket with the right cable, although it would drain the battery after a couple of days.
