NTK24696 Oxygen Sensor

Like the previous reviewer, my 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i had it's check engine light come on and the cruise control was disabled with the light flashing (which is normal when the check engine light comes on). Hooking up an OBD2 reader gave me codes of P0031 (Front oxygen A/F sensor heater circuit low input) and P1034 (Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Bank 1 Sensor 1). I replaced the forward oxygen sensor (upstream of the catalytic converter) with the NGK 24696 and it worked perfectly. The sensor threaded in perfectly and the plastic connected snapped into the factory plug without any problems. After resetting the OBD2 codes, the check engine light went away the cruise control operated normally again.

This sensor fit my 2005 Subaru Legacy (non-turbo, 2.5L 253J engine) perfectly (before catalyst). The engine light was on, and the scan code indicated the pre-catalyst sensor was defective. It was well priced at around $75.00.An irritating feature of the Subaru is that the cruise light flashes constantly when the engine light is on, meaning you cannot use cruise control either. This sensor put the light out, and all is well. The Bosch 15942 did not fit, so beware of that one. Although the Bosch site shows it as the proper sensor pre-catalyst, it is not. The NGK 24696 fits perfectly. The connector and overall length are different, so they are definitely not the same. The NGK site matches a different Bosch sensor to the NTK 24696.

It fit my 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i perfectly and fixed the problem. It also came with a zip-tie like clip to replace the clip in the car.
