Love Singapore Math
Switched my daughter from Math-U-See to Singapore Math. More challenging, but also more intuitive. We had her repeat third grade math just to catch her up on the new system. She finished that first semester with some tears for the adjustment, but second semester has blasted through book A and is almost done with book B. She’ll finish fourth grade all caught up. We opted NOT to get the workbook this time, she just does the practice questions in the textbook and that has been sufficient. Very pleased!

Singapore Primary Math
My son and I use Singapore Primary Math as homeschoolers and it is a great system. It gets right to it and doesn't waste time with too much busy work. They use multiple ways of teaching math concepts so it works for various learning styles. The pictures are simple, but effective. I find it relatively intuitive myself. The only issue we ever really seem to have is very occasionally we will encounter a bit of instruction in the book that doesn't quite seem to make sense to either of us. I suspect this is a translation issue and it is fairly infrequent.Singapore Math doesn't spend tons of time on each concept which may be an issue for some students who might need extra time to really get it. This is why they have extra books at each level for extra practice, so if you have a student who needs that extra work - don't despair. If you don't know where to start, their website has useful placement tests readily available. [...]I would most definitely recommend these books!

No middle ground for us.
These books are wonderful for some children, including one of mine. The books are laid out with great instructions, each step carefully explained. There are many practice problems for each unit, though it is easy to skip if the practice isn't needed. A short tutorial might be needed in some of the metric areas. I gave the book six weeks to see if it would work for my two kids, it was apparent after about three that it was not a good fit for one and perfect for the other.

No complaints about Singapore math
We used Singapore Math for our home school studies for 3 years. It is algebraic from the beginning, and not horribly repetitive (as saxon was in public school) and my son completed his work with not a lot of complaining. He would rather skip school work altogether, but he's willing to suffer through Singapore.
