Variable Tension
At first I pulled the thread radially off the spool and found that the thread tension kept changing. My bad. The spool was meant to have the thread pulled off the top. After I made a feeding guide to pull the thread straight up it worked fine.

Good quality #138 thread for the Cowboy 4500 - but a bit overpriced IMO (MSRP should be around 5$)
This is a good Quality bonded nylon thread #138 (aka Tex 135 or FF Military thread). I use it for my Cowboy 4500 saddlery sewing machine and it works wonderfull. Better than the #277 the machine came with. This is however About the smallest thread one can use on this Juki TSC 441 clone machine (CB 4500). The tensioners have to be set at the least pressure (although even #69 thread could work eventually but this #138 is really the minimal regards strength) and like that the machine will give way better results (better stitch lines and better stitch Quality on both sides) with the #138 thread instead of the #277 thread. Specially with lighter leather (like 4 to 5 oz leather) this #138 thread is the way to go with best results. But be advised that FF thread (#138) is weaker - rips easier, which happened only once to me till now - than 4 Cord Governement thread (#277) but gives a better Looking stitch.Quality wise this bonded nylon thread is the way to go but I feel it's a bit overpriced per roll since for propper use on the CB4500 machine, you Need 2 rolls of the same Colour since unthreading the machine is not the best way to do Things. So one roll for the bobbin and another one for the machine is the way to go and considered that These should be a bit cheaper like 5$ per roll since you probably will order a few different Colours. But it's a fairly strong thread size for normal leather work (you dont wanna go with any less than #138 thread, since those are less strong and could comprimise your work). Quality wise it gets 5 stars but regards pricing it gets 4 stars.

Good but too thick for my sewing machine
using a 100/16 needle the thread fits but its too tight really. I don't know if they make needles larger for home machines. the thread is abundant and seems good but who really knows as I could not run much. for industrial or hand sew i think it would be great and if you want large expose stiches for design it would also probably be good.

Perfect color!
I build leather products, and have a Cobra Class 26 leather sewing machine. I recently refurbished this vintage LV bag. This thread is the perfect weight and color for all my projects.
