Nice scales but slow responding
Scales are fine however they can take a couple of seconds to come to the final reading so one often ends up overfilling whatever bowl is on them as the weight under-reads initially. This isn't a problem for large items but when trying to weigh small things (say under 100g) it makes the process quite laborious as one must repeatedly wait for the measurement to stabilise before adding additional material - or else overshoot and then slowly scoop out the excess.

The item is quite expensive - plus we needed to return ours as the glass top kept unscrewing and would not remain level.

Brilliantly simple to use, no frills - on/tare/off. Job done. Small size to fit in cupboard but the design with the display off centremeans you can use quite a large bowl.

Brilliant Scales ā So Many Uses
Soehnle "Roma" Digital Kitchen Scale Model No 658471st Impressions;ā¢ The Scales are nicely presented in a sturdy box which, printed on the back, is multilingual basic information about the product.ā¢ Inside the box, the Scales are well packed and protected, and come with 2 AAA Alkaline Batteries and an Instruction Leaflet which is mainly diagrammatical. (Pic 1)ā¢ The Scales have a worldwide 5-year Guarantee (excluding the batteries) and the product is by Leifheit.ā¢ There is a choice of having the weight shown in grams or ounces. The weight scale is 1g/0.05oz up to 5kg/9lbs.In Use;ā¢ Insert the Batteries making sure the polarity is correct. Screw on the glass base plate and select your choice of measurement ā metric or imperial ā by pressing the little button underneath the base of the scales at the front. (Pics 2 & 3)ā¢ Depending on what you are going to weigh, it can be placed either directly on the safety glass base plate, or in a bowl etc. If you intend to use a bowl/plate then place it on the glass base plate BEFORE you turn on the scales.ā¢ To clean the glass base plate, simply unscrew it and run briefly under warm water then thoroughly dry it or wipe with a damp cloth. Do NOT use liquid or powder detergents on it. It should not be put in the dishwasher.
