Sensory Goods Large Weighted Lap Pad - 7lb - 17" x 23" (Hot Pink)

I bought this for my 8 year old to help with anxiety. He's a sensitive little turd and has a hard time with big changes, like a new school year. He was having a hard time falling asleep at night with racing thoughts and worries and I really think this helped him through it. He calls it the magic blanket, and likes to use it on his chest at bedtime. Says it feels like a hug. I'm glad it's not an actual blanket because he runs hot and he'd be drenched and uncomfortable if it were full size and probably wouldn't use it. It comforts him and helps him fall asleep and that's exactly what I wanted. Have had no issues with shifting beads. I like to use it for leg cramps. Feels almost like a heating pad.

I am completely satisfied with this weighted Lap Pad. I am a male and weigh 170 lbs and the dimensions of 17"x 23" and a weight (7 lbs) work well for me. I am not interested in covering my legs, so this "lap pad" is perfect. I use this pad on my lap when seated and I lay it across my torso when lying down. This is my first experience using a weighted blanket/lap pad and I have found it very helpful to calm anxiety. I no longer "toss and turn" at night. Quality of the lap pad is good. Beads don't leak. It is washable and made in America.

I got this lap pad b/c my larger, heavier (20 lb) weighted blanket is too heavy to carry around. The 7 lb lap pad is nice to use while watching TV or curling up in a chair. It fits perfectly in a pillowcase which is a nice way to keep it clean between washes. I am an adult and feel it is heavy enough to provide comfort while also being portable.

I use them in my yoga classes, my students love them in savasana and other restorative poses. The weight is evenly distributed, they don't smell weird and the fabric is soft and comforting. Not only that, they are affordable, which a big plus when you have to buy as many as I have. I am very happy with my purchases.

Only giving 4 stars because I expected it to be a tad larger. Either way, my son is sitting calmly, with this around his shoulders, and his new Romeo weighted bunny, in his lap. He is watching a movie, with rapt attention. Something he never does. My son has an autism diagnosis and is always on sensory overload. Bounce should be his middle name. Apparently, these 2 products are miracles of calming and soothing for him. So glad the price was reasonable. Last year weighted blankets were far above my pay grade! Material is soft and seems well made.

I received the large lap pad a few hours ago, and am already using it. It is a very comforting feeling. I had already purchased a twin size weighted blanket, and found that it was really helpful to calm restless legs in bed at night , but too large to use when relaxing, traveling, or napping on the couch. This pad folds to a small size. I'm petite in height, and the large lap pad covers my feet and lower legs. It's perfect for my needs. At first, I thought the pellets were shifting too much, but after investigating, discovered the inner baffles are there - just not noticeable. The cover is soft, and the blue color is pretty. I live in a hot climate, and feared the twin size would have been too hot and heavy in summer. This pad delivers comfort just where you need it, and is more natural than taking drugs, and safer than a heating pad!

Seriously!! cant believe how useful this lap pad has been! 😍 Use it more like a blanket and has helped my anxiety a lot. Kinda like having a cat lay next to you, if you like them.

What I expected when ordering this product was a lap pad. However, it turned out to be a small blanket for my five year old. Now I had to go back to read the description on the item, not that it mattered because I was going to keep it anyway. This lap pad/small blanket whatever it may be to your child is amazing! I have used this thing every single day on so many different occasions. I've taken it to speech therapy, occupational therapy in the car group therapy in the bed on the couch this thing goes everywhere with us. Both of my kids are on the spectrum so it gets used a lot. Not only that my son was very sick today with the flu and this little blanket lap pad thingy made him feel so much better! After all the puking shivering crying tears this little blanket sitting on top of him hugged him and kept him warm and feeling secure while I was busy cleaning up all of the puke and tears. I'm thankful for that.
