I don't love the extra step of grinding the spices (cumin, coriander, cardamom) for my Shawarma spice blend, but it's really worth it. I haven't been disappointed yet by the freshness of whole spices from this brand. If you have a/some well stocked spice drawer(s), you can just pick from a few meats and whatever produce is good, and it won't get boring because - like for instance with the coriander, you can go Indian, Mexican, basically the same meat and veggies but lots of choices! Just - never buy pre-ground! (A cheap blade coffee grinder is your best friend.)
