Best knife sharpener I have purchased!
I have tried knife steels, spent a lot of time and effort trying to get a very sharp knife with limited success.I tried two or three sharpening stone based products with similar results. After using the Furfill Kitchen Knife Sharpener for a day, I could tell it was much better than all the others. I sharpened a knife that had been dull for many years; It was cutting tomatoes perfectly rather than squashing them and, that was out breaking the skin with the tip first. My wife cut her finger with that very same knife and blamed the fact that the knife had not been sharp for years, sorry wifey.

It's not as good as it thinks it is
I thought this was made of all metal when I looked at the images on the screen but the black arms are plastic and I wonder how durable they'll be.I got this on a lightning deal for £20 and I think that was still too much money. I'm tempted to send it back.I've got a brilliant knife sharpener but it's quite an unsafe one - you have to lay the knife down sharp edge up and drag the sharpener down the length of the blade. So this one looked much safer to me which is why I bought it.My test for sharpness is to try and cut a ripe tomato. I sharpen my knives until I can get wafer thin slices from a squashy ripe tomato, but in this case the sharpener blunted my knife.I'm guessing they I'll need to commit to this sharpener to take the edge off my knives and then put a new edge on.I'll stick with it. But I wouldn't pay full price and I'm regretting paying this lightning deal price too.

Good for big knifes
I note (without add or taking any stars away) that it is much small then it looks on the site. My palm is about the same size. You must read the instructions on the Amazon site, they are not replicate with the device, ie hold the knife tip up for coarse sharpening, down for fine sharping. But you are told “It is strictly prohibited to cross your arms during use”. Is that possible?I found the bigger the knife the better the result. With a very large 30cm chefs knife it did a very good job indeed. With a much smaller weapon much less so

Poor design bound to break
If you had asked me in 2019, 2020, or the first six months of this year I would have told you what a great product this is and tell you to buy it.However I used it around fifty times since I purchased it, this morning it completely broke, it has an obvious design flaw as all the pressure when sharpening a knife is transferred to the weakest point and as this is a thin piece of plastic it is bound to fail. Why they didn't make the arms metal only they know. Even though I liked the sharpener I won't be spending another £22 on it.

A great bit of kit
This arrived todayHaving read previous reviews I made sure I ordered the all metal version and am not disappointedRead the instructions first and make sure you angle the knives as the manufacturer instructs as opposed to what your instinct says, I have tried both and proved the difference. We immediately sharpened 4 old knives without any problem and I would recommend this sharpener without hesitation.
