Great Book for tutoring!
I bought this book to help my cousin with his English as he was struggling in his high school classes. This book is very organized and easy to understand. The exercises were pleasant and were perfect to help him in his classes. I barely needed to tutor him with this book.

Homeschool - 7th grader, Native English Speaker, Nonfiction RC Lessons
I use this with my 7th grade child for learning nonfiction comprehension. This is an excellent option to support this skill. The articles are informative, clear, and challenging. The supplemental lessons are excellent for a 7th grader.

Very interesting articles.
I read a couple of articles and want to write a review.I speak English well, but I still can't read magazines and newspapers. Too heavy text. That's why I bought this book to practice reading. I really like the content of the book. Very modern and interesting articles. Now I read when I have breakfast. I advise everyone to buy this book who speaks English well, but is still in the process of improvement!

too much bias in essays
We did not get beyond the first essay of this workbook because we were appalled at the biases in the articles presented for analysis. I am not interested in diagramming a sentence about tourists riding elephants or identify the academic vocabulary about it. The exercises may be excellent but the essays border on propaganda when addressing human intention. An old fashioned selection of literature in a rhetoric primer or advanced english is far better. We were too stunned by the contents to even consider the excercises.
