Rocky Mountain Hunting CallsELK Call

This is my favorite reed of all time. I have purchased three of these now, and I will continue to purchase them. The range of sounds that they make is perfect for getting elk talking, and getting them to stop and look. This very reed is 100% responsible for at least one elk harvest I took - it was getting late on the last day of season and the elk were just not coming out into the clearing. I could hear them, but I couldn't see them. I gave a few low, friendly cow chirps on this reed, and suddenly it was like they had all been given the okay to come running out for their feed. One of the first chargers was a legal bull, and he's in my freezer now. I give this reed all the credit for getting him out of the woods before it was too late to get a shot on him. I will never go elk hunting without this reed on hand.

I was very happy with these calls until I noticed the latex tearing, these calls shouldnt even be broken in yet and they are already breaking. I have had the calls for about 2 weeks and only put light use on them. Like i said i loved the calls, but these arent even going to make it to hunting season.Id also like to add, Ive emailed Rocky Mountain calls 4 times now with no response and called a number on their website 3 times and never got an answer.

I left off one star because the diaphragm call does not come with a hard plastic case like a lot of the other ones I have bought in the past.

So I have zero experience with using a diaphragm for a cow elk call, but I had this thing figured out in no time after about 15-20 minutes watching videos and practicin. Super easy to use and I like that it sits in the front of your pallet which kept me from gagging. Durability is questionable, but I feel that this will be the case for any call that uses a small swath of latex. I am feeling confident in using this call early next fall.

So far, my favorite diaphragm mouth call. Super easy to use, and produce entire range of sounds. Cow sounds are perfect with this, and hard bugles are a little thin "young " sounding. Pair this with the brown "Rowdy Bull" call, a good bugle tube, and hit the woods.

Easiest of all my elk calls to use, which makes you sound better.

Great cow and calf sounds, and easy to manipulate against the pallette. Moved multiple animals with it this season, including moving a small six point broadside within shooting distance. This will be my go-to cow call in the future.

Very easy to use. I have tried several other mouth reed products that do not have the top support which I find don't work as well for me. Also a good price point for around $8.
