The hob is brilliant but the placement of 4 burners mean if you have a bigger pan to cook, then you cannot use any other pan! If you are not using a bigger pan then you should be good for you. It was easy to install and it looks very good.

Recently installed, this hob fitted nicely and directly into the work surface cut-out from my previous one. I spent a lot of time researching a replacement hob, comparing, asking other customers questions, looking at reviews etc, before I ordered this. First of all - Russell Hobbs - a good name in kitchen appliances. I wondered about the design placement of the burners - diamond rather that two-by-two - some reviewer said you can't place large pots on it altogether - well you can, quite nicely, thank you. My previous hob had control knobs at the side and they had become burned and mis-shappend- I didn't want the same thing to happen again, so had other customers measure the height of the pot grids for me - yes! a good clearance - another "tick". I was concerned the pot stands, being cast iron, would be too heavy for me to lift and clean; but there are 3 of them instead of 2, so another problem solved. I'd been used to an enameled metal top and really deliberated over "going modern" with glass; no problems, the pot stands are secured either side so don't move about to cause any scratching and the glass is easy to clean.The control knobs are nice and large. A few reviewers pointed out they had trouble lowering the gas - I can understand that; overall these burners are powerful, and you do have to turn the controls way down low to alter the flame - but, so what - basically when I only have one pan on for anything I use the medium burner to very quickly bring water to temperature, then swop it onto the smallest burner turned low to simmer away. No problem. Oh, and I wanted a wok burner - not that I have a wok, but the thought of a very powerful double-burner was irresistable. And just a minor point - the Russell Hobbs name will never wear-off because it's underneath the glass surface.This hob actually isn't expensive and is exceptional value for money. It comes with a one-year guarantee which you can then register to get an extra year.If, down the road, I come across any problems, I'll update this review, but at the moment, having happily used it for 4 weeks, and marvelled at how quickly I can cook things now compared to previously, I'm a very happy bunny!

I didn't have to get a gas safety registered Installer to fit the item. But it was definitely worth it. It looks very nice and is very easy to use. Well designed.

Beautiful addition to my kitchen. Surprisingly strong lights.However very hard to clean, always has patches.

Wrong size, didn't work!

Originally I was very impressed with this hob and left a good review however I have now started a return and have had to order a different hob and pay an engineer to remove this one and also fit the replacement so has been very expensive!DO NOT BUY THIS HOBDespite what the instructions claim there is NO WAY of adjusting the flame by removing the dials and inserting a small screwdriver, there is not even a hole there under any of the 4 dials, even the lowest setting on the smallest burner is impossible to simmer food it just boils everything, read other reviews and you will see that I am not the only person saying this!Also it looks nice having the pans in a diamond pattern rather than the conventional pan in each corner, try fitting 4 pans on it at the same time and you will soon learn why most hobs have a burner in each corner!The pan rests do not fit well and rock and rattle.It’s very awkward to clean.And the return process involved a lengthy patronising phone call with someone from Amazon who could not seem to understand that my Gas engineer said it’s a reject, the instructions do not match the product as there is no possible way to alter the flame, the guy from Amazon just kept asking me over and over again if I had read the instructions or tried turning the dials on the hob to alter the flame (like that wasn’t the first thing I tried)Over all I have had countless engineer visits with all the disruption that causes, still have to have another engineer visit to swap to my replacement (different new hob) and I also have to pay or dispute my engineer costs with Russell Hobbs directly even though I was supplied a hob not fit for purpose.All in all my experience with Amazon customer service was patronising and very disappointing, I’m £hundreds out of pocket and I rate this hob 0.BUYER BEWARE
