Peace of mind for seniors living alone- and their loved ones.
I got this for my grandma. I pay monthly for the basic service with fall detection. It works and gives my grandma (and me) peace of mind. She has had a couple of false alarms when she accidentally pressed her button, and when Lifestation called her in response, she didn't answer her phone so they sent an ambulance to her house. (They call me too when she needs help) But one day last month she had severe chest pain and pressed her button. Life Station called emergency services and then called me. I highly recommend this product and service. No landline, nor internet needed, and setup wasn't too difficult.

Great source of comfort and peace of mind !!
My husband used the mobile device to call for help when I was out of town. He received a prompt response and I was notified. It was great to know the service work so well and I am truly happy that I purchased the device before I left!!

Very Poor Service when trying to set up account
The media could not be loaded. Purchased this for my 94 year-old mother who has recently had 3 falls. Was VERY UNHAPPY with the company when trying to set up service and to activate. When I first received the unit, I tested the unit following the directions in the booklet. A recording said that the device had successfully connected and the device was working. (see video). I had not even activated the unit yet. When I called to activate, I asked about the recording and was told that if it was actually connected I would have been connected to a real person - that the unit was not working (even though the recording said it was). I felt the recording was VERY MISLEADING - if my mother had tested it, she would have thought it was connected and working and would have thought she did not need to call to activate it - this could have been a matter or life and death if she tried to use it during an emergency and it wasn't even connected. After giving my and my mother's information over the phone, I was told the unit would be activated in 20 minutes, and I could test it then. When I tested it, I got the same recording, saying it was successfully connected and working. However, no person ever came on. I tried pushing the button for assistance (as if it were an emergency) and the unit said it had not been activated.I then called customer service and was told it WAS activated and to try the test again. I did so while the representative was on the line - and he was able to hear the recording saying it was successfully connected and working. However, it was NOT activated and working as no live person came on the line. He put me on hold for a minute and then came back and said it was NOT yet activated, but the activation was pending. I told him the other representative had told me activation would take place in 20 minutes, and this representative then told me it would take 24 - 48 hours to activate!!!! So basically the unit was useless at that point. Also, I had been told so much incorrect information at that point that I was ready to cancel the service. I decided to wait until the unit was activated to see how it worked. IT DIDN'T! After 24 hours, I tested the unit again, and it said that the cell service was not good and a connection could not be made. I moved to another location in the house and tried pushing the button as if it were an emergency. I got the same recording saying the cell service was not good and to try another location. About 3 minutes later, while I was in the same location, and without pressing the button again, a live representative came on the line asking if I needed assistance.During the activation of the device, I was given different information and incorrect information. Then once the unit was activated, it did not work and then did work when I was in the same location. There were so many things wrong with this entire process, from the first message saying it was working (when it wasn't) to the misinformation about whether the unit was activated and how long it would take, to the actual unit not working when the button was pressed. I would never trust this unit as an alert system for my mother or anyone! A person could push the button and lie there dying while waiting for "assistance" that they thought was on the way - while the entire time the system wasn't even working! I am returning this unit and canceling the service!

Love, love, love it!!!
I've been considering a medical alert device for a long time. If I had known it was this inexpensive, easy to activate, and worked so well, I would have done it a long time ago. Couldn't be more pleased.

Not all features work
This is a pretty good unit. I like that it has a cell presence. No matter where dad may roam, we have a chance of him being safe. The people at the service are nice, but they've got some work to do. First, there's a feature called "Find Name" you just text "Find Name" with the first name of your loved one and it texts you back a map showing where they are. HOWEVER, if it can't find the person because they're in a cell-inaccessible location like a basement of a hospital or something, it just sends you a map of the last place you located them. I would rather it just said it didn't know where he was. This is a software issue. All they'd have to do is make it more pro-active where it reported its location more often. Pretty simple actually! Also, the company should have some additional hardware like buttons we could put down low in case dad falls and doesn't have his unit on.Dad doesn't complain about the weight, but it does bang against things regularly. This triggers the fall alarm. Fortunately, it asks him if he's okay before it sends the alarm. He can cancel it by pushing the button. It's not really loud, so there's another thing that could be improved.Update: As I mentioned, the locate feature is wildly inconsistent. I discovered that the company is even worse. I told them to remove this charge and I didn't notice they didn't until my credit card expired. I know, that's my responsibility, but it's a small amount so I didn't notice. I went to update my account online and you can't. What kind of tech company doesn't have an online payment / account management interface? So I cancelled the account. Go with a better company!

Great battery life, good price
I had a Go Lively from Great Call for a year. Had to charge it twice a day. Even then it would occasionally alert it was dying in middle of night. What a pain! LifeStation battery lasts days, giving me plenty of opportunities to charge it. Which does take longer. I'm much happier and more relaxed about battery life. It's a bit heavier, but got used to that in a couple days. Wish they had a website where I could enter medical history so they could alert 911. They did get emergency contact information.

Automatic Fall Alert
I purchased this product specifically for the automatic fall alert capabilities. I accidentally dropped the pendant and the fall alert went off so I know that it works. It asks if you want to cancel the alert so an ambulance isn’t called when it is necessary. It is very comforting to know that if a fall occurs and the person can not respond the system will send help all by itself.
