phone is ok - does the job - but few annoying things which could had done better without - i got this as its size is reasonable smaller but still too big - can't fit properly in pocket and falls out. - guess the other positive is the battery is removable compared to other similar in market.1) inbuilt YOUTUBE app - locked to phone - it's awful version, standard app would been much easier and less hassle as this constantly crashes2) spyware? Spam app and hidden stuff keeps popping up - virus checker identifies as part of built in apps - again annoying as can't remove.3) charging is fairly slow

I bought this phone in December, and was aware it was a gamble and a potential security risk. I experienced the issues with YouTube etc... As described in other reviews, this appeared after a few weeks.Eventually, I found a system update on Cubot's website. This appeared to correct the issue, and the Trojans no longer showed up on avast or malwarebyte scans. However, I can't say whether that is because it no longer has any malware, or because the malware is now well enough disguised that it won't show up on the scans.I don't have any sufficiently sensitive information on my phone that it makes much difference to me whether it is being spied on. So overall, I'm quite happy with it, as otherwise, the quality to price ratio is pretty good.However, I would have very little confidence in my data being safe on it.

Bought in November, returned with faulty loudspeaker December. Took 62 days to repair received back February 21 Refused to replace even though no spare parts available hence delay in repair. Experience with phone limited due to lack of use would have been four stars but for the very poor response by Cubot service department.Update: I have now had the phone back from repair for just over a month, I have now changed my original 1 star rating to 3 stars since I have been very happy with the performance of the phone. The dual Sim function works very well and overall I have found the phone to be very fast and responsive and I have experienced no problems with malware as reported by others. One slight issue is the battery life which does not seem to be very good, with only moderate usage, I find it needs recharging every evening. I would like to find out if Cubot sell replacement batteries could not find any info on the website.

Battery doesn't last long at all, some background apps since I got it just seem to draik it... at 20% if you open Maps it dies.Not as powerful as I thought.

Don't buy this phone! It comes with two viruses embedded in system user interface and YouTube app. They are dormant for some time (I think about two weeks) and then they activate. At first I thought I got virus from some app as everything seemed to be OK. Then I started getting random popups saying that Maxthon browser couldn't be installed. After some research I found out that this browser is considered dangerous as it also is known malware spying on user and sending private data to China. Of course I never intended to install it so the message was even more suspicious. Another annoying problem was that every time I'd open browser app (any browser, I tried several before realising that it's virus doing) it would open additional tab with some random web page which I think would try to install some more viruses or something else I don't want. A nuisance anyway. That's when I got antivirus and confirmed my suspicions. After doing factory reset everything went to normal. Or so I thought. After a while it all started again, only this time instead of trying to install Maxthon browser virus is showing me ads every time I open an app. Any app. Sometimes it's a small ad at the top or bottom of the screen, sometimes it's full screen ad. At the time I bought this phone it didn't have any reviews mentioning virus that can't be removed but you have my word - you will regret buying this phone, even if none of your personal information is stolen as using it is still a pain in the backside!It's a shame really because if it wasn't for virus this phone would be a good purchase. Only other problem with it is a small capacity battery, at least for my needs. The screen is crisp and bright, mic and speaker are good, it comes with a free back cover, etc. But it all is pointless because of the virus. Don't buy it!

Like other critical reviewers, I had no alternative but to return this phone. It seemed fine at first but then it started to download junk ads and porn. Security scans showed that the O/S was infected with pre-installed malware (including YouTube trojan) that was impossible to remove or disable. The malware switched off my phone protection system and when I tried to disable the infected apps by using 'force stop', the O/S simply seized up. Amazon should consider whether it continues to sell this phone.

At first I mostly liked this phone especially the internet access being much faster than my previous phone. But it crashed shortly after purchase and Amazon agreed to it's return. After it started working again I decided to give it another chance so I kept it but have been plagued with ads including for porn and gaming. Also the on/off button is on the side so it frequently causes me to switch it off accidentally. It can take it's time working again after charging giving the impression it's stopped working. Update might help, will see how it goes.

GOOD phone I used it as a back up.
