Andersen Fwh80 Hinged Door - (Active Door Panel) 3 Point Lock Mechanism (1988 to Present)

We were having issues in being able to latch the door when pulling up on handle. Became so difficult to do that my wife and kids couldn't lock the door. After purchasing this replacement unit, the door latches much easier.

Perfect fit for my Andersen door, OEM quality, a little longer to ship probably due to 8’ long difficult size.

This mechanism is an exact replacement to the existing lockset. It did not come with instructions, however, it is an easy replacement that doesn't require more than a screwdriver and hex-screw wrench. The lockset was a little stiff, but a spray of lock dry-lube solved that issue. I couldn't help but disassemble my old unit to find that one pivot pin had worked loose from the mechanism. I pushed the pin back into place and voila; I now have a spare lockset after tack welding the case back together.

I received the lock after 8 days and installed it but the lock not working ,it looks like refurbished parts). I can’t turn the knob to lock the door at all (something stuck inside , it’s only turn halfway) . I chat with Amazon , they sent a requests to sellers ask for prepaid shipping label, then seller response email without any shipping label for return. Seller ask me to pay for return shipping for the bad parts first then contact them afterwards to get this shipment cost refund…This is not what I expect to spend my time with broken parts. I have to contact Amazon again 2nd time then they help me to get it refund.

My Andersen door had the usual problem of the internal spring broken so the dead bolt will not close. As you cannot open up the locking mechanism [without drilling out rivets] you have to replace the whole thing. The replacement locking mech. was easy enough to replace as its mostly a drop in and everything lined up without adjustments. The spring now appears to be stronger [thicker] as seen by the small part that sticks out of the bottom of the lock cage, so I'm hopeful that it will hold up longer. So bottom line is yes this works well but a better design would mean you wouldn't have to replace it in the first place.

It is a bit expensive, but I suppose there is really no choice. It fit exactly and fixed the issue. It was easy to replace.

Came fast and perfect fit to replace broken lock mechanism. I wonder how long it will last given the lock mechanism that came with the door only lasted 3 years before an internal part broken rendering the mechanism useless
