Q: I have 1/4 inch Grayco hose & would like to have a 1/4 inch hose whip but the only thing I can find here is 3/16 inch .. no joy ... need input?

The 3/16 whip is compatible with the quarter inch hose, the fittings are compatible and they attached - the diameter of the hose is for flexibility
