iGaging Digital Micrometer w Data Output 1-2"/0.00005"/0.001mm

Another great product I got off Amazon. I own a nice 1" range Mitutoyo digital micrometer which cost over $150 with tax, and it's what I used to compare the quality of these way cheaper Chinese micrometers. The Mitutoyo has a little better feel when adjusting it in and out. The Mitutoyo looks a little nicer with it's satin aluminum dial with it's markings, something that the iGaging doesn't have. But as far as accuracy, the thing that's the most important, the IGaging is just a tad bit better, .00015 or so, than the Mitutoyo when it comes to repeatability. If these iGaging micrometers keep working for years to come, I'd say they're a real bargain when compared to the high end micrometers.

Once it was set up, it works well; however, it was not made for the case it was sent in. It was hard to set up. It’s control input buttons are not at all intuitive. The price was reasonable and once it’s set up, it’s seemingly accurate. With a little tweaking, it would be an excellent product.

feels really natural in your hand while checking parts, easily readable, and....it has an OFF button! I've been using it on and off for about 2 months or so checking within +/-.0002 tolerance and it has not let me down yet, I check it to a Mitutoyo standard every day I'm using it at work and it has held with out having to be reset yet.

The 0-1" Digital Micrometer was so much better than I expected for the price that I immediately ordered this Digital 1-2" Micrometer and the Digital 2-3" Micrometer.

Instructions are useless and have no steps for calibration. Using the included 1” reference to calibrate the device, the screen sets to 1.000 in inch unit of measure and 25.400 in mm unit of measure when you press and hold the set button. Then reversing the drive initially shows the measure increasing appropriately until the display starts to blank out and reading is incorrect (skipped). At this point the device can’t be reliably used. In inch mode, after opening the caliper past 1/2” from “1.000” the display blanks and jumps and then reverts to 25.xxx mm. Makes no sense. It is complete junk and not fit for purpose.
