A great value for the price
I started taking karate at my local dojo this January. During part of our class on some weeks we face off against fellow students in 3 minute sparring sessions. I wanted a pair of my own gloves since I wasn't too keen on using the sweaty gloves in the free-to-use pile near the practice area. I found these on Amazon, and after seeing they were well rated and inexpensive, went ahead and ordered them.I have now used these gloves in at least 10 different sparring matches over the past 3 months. Here are my thoughts:Pros:1. They are mostly of solid construction. The foam on the top of the glove and knuckle is thick and comfortable. Though the finger holes at the bottom feel a bit flimsy and likely to tear with abuse, the rest of of the gloves seem strong enough to take lots of abuse.2. They offer a bit more protection than the light-weight sparring gloves. I like more protection on my hand and thumb, and these gloves (though they might not qualify in a formal tournament) offer overall excellent protection for the hands, wrists, and all fingers.3. They are a striking blue. I get lots of compliments when I pull these out of my bag. Usually I hear "Hey! Those are nice gloves!" This could be because most everyone uses the old, ratty gloves the dojo provides, but I could be wrong. ;)Cons:1. As I mentioned previously, the finger holes near the top seem a bit flimsy and might tear or wear out after lots of use. This doesn't really concern me since I don't spar every day in class. I anticipate I should get more than my money's worth by the time I have to retire these and order a new pair. The upside to this is the cost is low enough it's not that big of a deal.

Works perfectly!
I went with a medium cause that's my go to size and I prob should have gone a size higher. They are very tight and the strap that goes around the palm of your hand kinda digs into the crook of my thumbs. I'm debating cutting it away a little or just hoping it would get more worn in and flexible to my hands but in the heat of a sparing match I don't notice it. Last time I put them on I actually don't remember if they cut in as much. I've tested them against a punching bag and the cushion around the knuckles is extra padded so they work perfectly and I could punch that bag all day. (Ps I'm a 5' 3" woman who's average weight, sporty built and the mediums are what I bought based off the size I normally wear with clothes. A large prob would have fit better but I'm content with what I have for now)

The Pro Force Lightning Karate Sparring Gloves are a great fit.. I have had gloves like these many times and they are a great for sparing. the padding protects your hands and they are light weight for speed.. I would buy these gloves again as a gift or for myself..

Good gloves for practicing board breaks!
My kiddos are in taekwondo and haven't started sparring yet but these work well for practicing board breaks at home. The stiff plastic going across the palm can be a little uncomfortable for kids with sensitive skin. my kids complained the first couple of times they wore it but then seemed to get used to it. Overall good product.

Solid product: But be sure of size
I love these! We are excited about their stability. They are a fantastic product. But in your measuring, you may want to go down a size. We measured properly, three times actually, and ordered the corresponding size. It was much too large and we had to size down. That was a little frustrating.

On the big side
These are great quality. Bought them for my daughter. She preferred these over some open finger gloves we had. She is very petite. 40lbs. These were much too big for her but she was still able to wear them. I should have got a small but I was unfamiliar with the sizes.
