Staunton No. 7 Tournament Chess Pieces in Wooden Box

Bought these to go with the 19 inch board (from the same seller) they fit perfect on the 2 inch squares. Upon reading the base dimensions I was worried they would be too narrow but they aren't.They look and feel really nice and are actually heavier than I expected from reading other peoples reviews.Negative points: They have some very very slight imperfections from the carving and now I see them on the board the pawns look a bit tall and skinny but that is my personal taste and they are exactly as advertised.THESE ARE A BARGAIN £30 FOR 32 HAND CARVED PIECES, DELIVERED IN UNDER 2 DAYS!!! WITH A NICE BOX TO BOOT! A great cheaper alternative to House of Staunton.

Feels good, looks good. Good detail in the pieces. Being handcraft you wouldn't expect pieces to be 100% perfect, which adds character. Though, in here pieces are pretty uniform. The character is all being provided by the beautiful wood grain.Pieces size was great for my handmade table (5cm/side tiles squares) and feel good in the hand.The pieces weight is great also, solid without being considerably heavy. Not you'd ever do it, a piece would need to be thrown down and land at a considerable angle 45degrees+ for it to fall.Brushing past pieces certainly won't knock them off.For the set, the price is good value.

This is a beautifully crafted traditional chess set that is perfect for a board over 30 cm square. The pieces are easy to identify and feel good to touch. A lovely box as well makes these pieces a perfect gift!

Generally fine. However the finish of a lot of the pieces is very rough. I solved much of this with a small piece of fine sandpaper. The top of the king pieces are glued on (and a slightly different colour?) rather than carved. Lots of visible glue, and not all of it could be scraped away. Overall - A nice enough set of pieces but be prepared to “finish” them off yourself.

I bought these pieces for a nice chessboard I have which was missing one black bishop. There is nothing more annoying. The pieces are a little bigger than I thought but that's not a problem. Maybe something to bear in mind if like me you're buying these for another board. Nice box to store the pieces in, it is a tight fit though, you can't just chuck the pieces back in or the lid won't close. I wouldn't describe that as a fault though.

Excellent pieces. Nice weight. My only gripe is that I can’t find extra queens from this manufacturer on Amazon.

After looking on Staunton site. Thought would try these because of price and got to say fantastic son well happy
