Giant Aconcagua sweet heirloom pep (capsicum annuum) Origins: Argentina, precisely the Mountain of Aconcagua 28,841 feet tall, highest peak in the Americas. What a surprise these were, huge peppers growing on large plants. They need to be staked lest they will flop. Probably some of the largest sweet peps I have ever grown and they were not in large pots---a do-over would place them in 10+ Gallon pots to let them stretch their legs to their full potential (From the pics you can see my peps were much wider and not as long) Pods were 8-9" long x 3" wide which is wider than any other listing i have read on this pepper. Open pollinated heirloom similar to the Ljubovs, excellent second to none taste, great grilled/ roasted, stir fried, stuffed, or eaten fresh. Way better than any monsanto GMO nonsense. The maturity is a bit longer in the north, especially when summers don't provide ideal conditions-- Stated is 70-75 days. Nada if you live in the colder zones, more like 80- 85 days from transplant so you need to get these started about 7-8 weeks before your last expected frost.
