Tonka90697 Classic Steel Front End Loader Vehicle

Got 2 of these one for each grandson, 3 and 2. They loved them. I wanted something beyond the all plastic toys. These have some metal and are fairly sturdy. Durabilty? too soon to tell. I would reccomend them.

Seriously, these trucks are durable. Sure, they have a little plastic nowadays, but the quality and durability remain. Our three and five year old cannot get enough of these classic trucks. Highly recommend. Especially if looking for trucks suited for outdoor use.

I like the concept of this toy but was disappointed that not all of the parts are metal like they were when I was a kid.

This front end loader is similar to the old ones, just has a plastic loader. the rest is metal. Seems pretty sturdy to me.

Cool toy, my 4 and 7 year old love it (and they are girls lol)... durable, the front yellow part that carries stuff is plastic :-( not metal like other parts of the toy, but still cool, in fact it may be better that way because of less noise when they play with it and put rocks on it, or scratch it against the floor...Tires are solid plastic, would be cool if they were rubber. Aside from that this toy can provide hours of entertainment, specially at a sandbox! or if you have small rocks in your driveway, or somewhere in your backyard!

We've been buying all these tonka construction toys. They have all lasted well, my husbands only issue with this front end loader is that the bucket (scoop) at the front is plastic. the rest of the body is metal but not the bucket. Everything has worked well with no issues just wish it was all metal as the other ones.

My wife and I bought this for our two year old grandson, Sol, and it went well with his classic dump truck. Both vehicles are large and sturdy enough to impress the heck out of any toddler. I imagine the others in the Tonka fleet also fit the bill.One funny thing is he also got a set of miniature Tonka toys and the tiny, plastic front end loader looked like an elfin version of the big, metal model. Sol seemed to get a kick out of that and he put the little loader into the bed of the dump truck.

You can't go wrong with a Tonka for the sandbox ever! I love that they added a heavy duty plastic handle at the top to raise the shovel at the front which is easy for toddlers to operate. A big improvement. Love its washability too.
