works on an airplane
This was the perfect size. It fits folded in my backpack and comfortably on an airplane seat. It made a 10 hour flight bearable for me. I only started getting tailbone pain after 9 hours. So worth it!

Very nice
Light and helpful for back pain. It is a gel type so not soft- just the way it should be. Easy to take to sport games or concerts. That’s a keeper.

Works very well
I've traveled for work for many years logging hundreds of thousands of airmiles. It wasn't until a few years ago I started to get severe coccyx pain after a couple of hours sitting in an airplane seat. I stopped traveling so much a couple of years ago but I do still fly from time to time. Last year I went on a vacation and after hour 2 of a 10-hour flight the pain was almost unbearable and with another 14-hour vacation flight next spring I decided to try this seat cushion out. I'm 5'9'', 170# so about average build.TESTING:I purchased the cushion and "broke it in" using my office chair for a couple of weeks. I found it comfortable even after sitting for about 2-hours so I took it on a short flight i had to take last week, 4-hours there and back.FINDINGS:I purposefully sat in my airplane seat for the 4-hours on the way there, not getting up to see how it would perform. Overall I will say that I did have a little bit of stiffness from just sitting but the coccyx pain was negligible. Perfect? No, but greatly improved. I would normally stand up after a couple of hours even on a short flight like this because I can't sit for extended time anyway. On the way back I sat for about 2-hours, got up and stretched and after sitting for the final 2-hours I had no real pain to mention.I wish I would have gotten this earlier!PROS:+ Comfortable enough for the most part.+ Good design short of going with a fully custom solution.+ Small enough to pack into a backpack.CONS:- There are vent holes but because of the materials used I did still get a bit "warm" while sitting on it.- It is a little stiff because of the materials used but I think that foam and gel is better for the long term. Gel is too hard and foam degrades too quickly.- There are better ways to carry it around.SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS:It's small enough to shove in a laptop bag and it does have a handle of sorts but would be better is maintaining the handle in the middle and coming up with an alternate way to carry it by strapping it to a bag on the outside, be that a secondary strapping design on the side of the cushion or a bag to put it in with a reinforced strap so it can be clipped to a bag strap using a carabiner. I'm going to try to find a mesh bag that will achieve that but the company might consider this improvement.OVERALL:4.5/5.

Back saver!
I'm a musician and have lower back issues. Going to rehearsals and gigs at different venues, I'll never know what kind of chair I'll be forced to sit in, sometimes for up to 3 hours. This pad has been a back saver! The firm gel makes any chair much more comfortable, plus the slight angle helps my posture. I love how low profile it is and that it easily folds and has a handle to instantly become portable. It even fits perfectly into the music pocket of my instrument case so I don't have to carry it separately! It's just enough to make hard musician chairs more comfortable without having to carry around one of those typical bulky seat pads. Highly recommend!

Cushiony and slim
I've used this on four flights (5-8 hour each) and two car rides. I feel it gives cushion to the seat which is nice, but I didn't feel it really kept me from hurting in the lower back and tailbone area on the flights. I still got really sore and fidgety to find a comfortable position. I do like that it's small and slim so I can take it in my carry-on. If you're just looking for a little cushion, it is great.

Ahhhh! Relief at last!!!
I recently developed a very uncomfortable pain in my tailbone area, probably from sitting too much in a slouching position for a number of months. I tried and returned a thicker cushions, which, with my shortish legs, I could not use on seats which could not be adjusted to a lower height. I tried a "donut" which I could adjust to be thin, but it did not relieve the pain. When I got this GSeat Lite, I immediately felt better sitting down, although, initially, I still felt uncomfortable when I got up from a chair. But, after a week, that discomfort disappeared, too. I love that the GSeat Lite is so easy to move from place to place. I take it with me to use when I am out of the house. I forgot to take it with me last week and was very uncomfortable sitting for a long time on a hard chair. But once I started using it again, the discomfort eased and disappeared in a day. Thank you, Gelco, for an outstanding product!!

Do not buy!
After only 16 months of use only when traveling (2-3X/year) the handle broke. Amazon will not replace , though it is defective. $70 was worth it for the great comfort the seat provides , but you need the handle to function to carry it!
