Edlund 4416HD - 16-Inch Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Hinged Tongs

They are strong but have no lock.

I've owned this brand for more than 10+ years and they have not failed me; I literally, have 5-6 that are still going strong. I really like how you can open and close the tongs with a simple push or pull of the tab located at the end of the tongs. Other tongs either stay open continually or you have to hold them up or down to open them which I think is a pain and ineffective. The stainless steel is a winner for longevity, reliability, and wash ability. I just throw them in the dishwasher and they look brand new every time. I've given these to all my family and their response is the same as mine.

Exactly what I wanted, but no lock for storage. I’m shocked that’s one of 3 categories for which a rating is requested. 5 stars with a locking mechanism. Too big not to have one.

What else can be said about a pair of tongs? These are solid, stainless tongs..not cheap, flimsy tools. Good stuff.

I bought these to use on my grill, nice and long. I have a set of Eklund at the stove inside, a 12-inch pair, that has a nice latching mechanism. I was disappointed that these larger tongs do not have a latch.I like that the "teeth" are shaped with a bit more tooth than other grill tongs. Other tongs I looked at while at Home Depot had teeth that were much more rounded. Eklund's design is better in that regard, in my opinion.

I've had several Edlund stainless steel tongs for many many years. I decided to purchase several different sizes that I didn't have and when I received them I discovered that the "spring" steel isn't as strong as the ones that were made over 22 years ago. That's disappointing to me but it won't stop me from buying them or recommending them. They are better than any other tongs anywhere else in the market. Every kitchen and Barbecue should have these tongs readily at hand.

Do not buy. They are sturdy enough but without a locking mechanism and hanging eye, they are impossible to keep in a drawer or on a utensil rack. I would return them, but feel like I should have been more careful with my purchase and done more complete research. Still. I would not repeat this purchase. I will probably give them to Goodwill.

Was anxious that I'd get a knockoff but got the real deal. Good, quality product. (actually) Made in the USA!
