Planetary Herbals DGL Licorice Tablets, 200 Chewable Tablets

I had a stressful event and was suffering from GERD (acid reflux, heartburn) so badly that I lost my voice and couldn't even talk for a week. I tried apple cider vinegar, d-limonene and digestive enzymes and nothing seemed to work. I read an article called "The 7 Best Supplements for GERD Sufferers" by Dr. Hoffman (highly recommend) which lists DGL tablets as the #1 heartburn remedy. Within a few days of chewing these tablets 6 to 8 times a day and taking 3mg of melatonin at night, my reflux went away and my voice sounded fine again. Dr. Hoffman says you have to take them several times a day and I think he's right. The taste of these tablets is slightly weird and herbal at first but I quickly got used to the taste and now I consider them to be soothing and delicious. The other brands have sugar or artifical sweeteners and this one is more natural.

This is the best quality DGL I have experienced so far. So many DGL tablets contain a lot of other ingredients but these seemed much healthier in that respect, so I tried them. Tablets have a natural licorice flavor and outperform the thin tasting, sugary, artificial taste of other DGL tablets. These tablets dissolve slowly for prolonged flavor, yet are soft enough to chew without any sugary texture. They really taste just like licorice, without other flavors added for enhancements. The best you can find in dissolvable DGL tablets, in my opinion.

I've been suffering from acidreflux/heartburn symptoms since the end of May. I previously tried natural factors DGL and loved the taste and efficiency, but the price of this brand, Planetary Herbals was more cost effective for bying a larger quantity. The texture of this tablet is dry and grainy, the flavor isn't the best, but it gets the job done, especially if you're taking two tablets twice a day like I am. I take this along with mastic gum, slippery elm lozenges and prescription lansopraole. My digestion and throat are on the mend, so I should be able to axe the prescription and continue with the herbals soon. I'd recommend it to a friend.

I have GERD and have used a prescription PPI for 17 years. These have been working well with my prescription. I take 1 20-30 min before a meal (2 if it's a larger meal). I genuinely feel as if there is a difference when using these. Taste is licorice without the sugar but it's not unbearable.

These arrived smelling and tasting burnt - very different from the same product I have used many times. I called the manufacturer. They told me to contact Amazon. I contacted Amazon, who told me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted the shipper, VitaminLife.com who told me to contact Amazon. So, NOBODY is willing to take responsibility for bad product. Not the manufacturer, not the shipper, and not Amazon.

The effectiveness amazes me. It helps to prevent stomach upset. Worth the price.

This particular DGL is very good and inexpensive compared to some of the other brands. I don't mind the taste at all and am glad that there are no flavor additives etc. I have had 4 ulcers and I can manage my digestive issues with this product combined with digestive enzymes, slippery elm bark and fermented apple cider vinegar.
