This has a top note spritz of lemon which backs off to a creamy kind of lanolin dry down. But layered underneath, you get just a whiff of lemon. I saw this when I was about 17 in a perfume boutique. It was a fun time in my life and getting this cologne today absolutely slapped me back there PDQ and had me grinning. Would I recommend this to a friend? You betcha. It’s light and clean, a little sweet and creamy and great for everyday wear. I got the small medallion bottle which easily slips into my purse, but since I’ll keep using this, I think I will get a spray for better application.

After almost 20 years when I received this cologne as a present for the very first time, I decided to try it again.Is perfect, the same fragrance. It's a 24 hours cologne. Love it.

Excellent product but more so when the seller corrected the wrong product shipment and sent the correct item within a few days. They deserve twice as many stars!!!!!!

Before I get started I just wanted to say that this version of the cologne is not in a spray bottle so don't order this one if you are looking for a spray. The bottle has a cap with an opening and you have to dab the cologne on you or apply it to something and put it on. At first smelling the bottle, I wasn't sure I liked the scent. I had someone else smell it and she said it was nice and came off like lemons and lime and very clean. I applied some of the cologne to my skin. After awhile, the scent warmed up to a "suntan lotion" smell with my particular body chemistry. I was pleased because that smell is one of my favorites. I did notice though that it was very light. I am more used to a cologne or perfume that "screams" at you and is a little brighter generally with notes of sandalwood. I thought the value for the bottle was pretty good because I have bought scents that contained alot less for a higher price. My worst complaint is that the scent is just a hint and not bolder for as good as it smells.

I've been happily wearing this cologne all my adult life (I'm 73). And I don't mind that the scent doesn't last very long, a complaint of other buyers. It's easy to reapply it during the day if necessary. Most other men's colognes are so cloying and much too persistent. You can't wash off the smell; you apply it with your hands, then later you hold the steering wheel, and now the steering wheel smells from cologne.But the last few bottles of this that I bought have virtually no scent to them. The first time I assumed something happened to the bottle in shipping, maybe left in an un-air conditioned truck in summer heat or something. But the next bottles I bought also have almost no scent. It's almost like bottles of water. The spray version is a little better, not much; but a relative brought back a spray version from Germany where he bought it for me, and the scent is also weak and also very different from what I've been used to. Same style printed on the label.Something has gone very wrong with 4711. I wasted lots of money on three big bottles of this stuff, and now with greatest reluctance I must switch to some other cologne. I suspect the company is trying to save money by reducing the aroma-producing ingredients, but they just ruined a wonderful product.

I've been using this product for over 40 years. It's a Wonderful body splash for both men and women. I highly recommend it
