Designer Techniques Couture Tips For Home Sewing Hardcover – January 1, 1997

This book is wonderful, filled with Technics that will make my project true creations.

I consider myself an advanced sewist, but I learned quite a bit from this book, or at least was reminded of things I knew but had not thought about recently. And I got some nice ideas, too. The methods featured in this book can be applied to both garment sewing and home decorating sewing.

It is a really good book! Mr. King is a superb instructor. I have enjoyed his Crafty classes and I've learned a lot.

Great, comprehensive book for designer sewing techniques. Recommend highly.

I recently purchased two books by Kenneth D. King. This book Designer Techniques, couture tips for home sewing and Cool Couture, construction techniques for runway style and found that they are basically the same book. I will keep them both since I did not pay much for them through Amazon but both books are definitely not needed. Nearly all of the information is in both books along with the tips and even the photographs. Cool Couture has more pages so maybe it has a little more information however, Designer Techniques has a small chapter on constructing handbags that is nor in the Cool Couture, save your money and purchase Cool Couture. Designer Techniques was published in 1998 with Cool Couture being published in 2008.

It's a decent book if you are a home sewer (like me) who has never had a lesson (like me). Great photos and detail ... but .... his new book "Cool Couture: Construction Secrets for Runway Style (Singer Studio)" is this book with a few updates. I guess this should be a critcism of Cool Couture, not this book, but I wish I had known I alredy had this book, just with a different name and cover.It is a good book and worth a look if you want some tips. Just dont buy it if you have his new one.
