NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Eyeshadow Base Primer, Skin Tone

I was a long time user of Lancome Les Aquatique shadow primer...the best I've found. I just couldn't afford the price now, even though the product lasts a long time. I found this shadow primer works really well for a much much lower price. I still love Lancome's the best but honestly this Nyx substitute for the price is a great alternative. I was a National Makeup Artist for Lancome for 10 years. I was very familiar with product of other lines too. Depending on your skin tone, you can use this nude shadow base to even out upper eyelid tone and wear alone without shadow. Add mascara and you're out the door. It makes a big difference and is a fast easy way to look refreshed, pretty, and professional when you want something minimal. As a shadow base it will help keep shadow in place & last longer, and make application better. (I really prefer this product over the other Nyx shadow primer in a tube...not happy with that one.) I love this product at a fantastic price point, and it does last a long time. I just bought 4 of this base because Im always paranoid about cosmetic lines discontinuing my favorite products! So I buy multiples of my favorites. You can always store the extras in a ziplock bag in the produce drawer of your fridge!

I usually never write an actual review, but I love this product so much. I love wearing colorful eyeshadow and this product makes a great base for those colors. In my included photos, I applied that eye make up 7.5 hours ago, before work, and it still looks bright and in place. No creasing, or minimal at worst. However, I use this for more than just eyelid primer. If you can't tell in the photo, I have bright purpley under eyes bc I am a messy gremlin who hates to sleep at night. After I apply my face primer in the morning , I use this clever little pot to cover my under eye and upper eye lid. It provides some color correcting and a great sticky base for some light foundation and powder. I have very thin, crepey eye skin and I do end up with a few creases no matter what by the end of the day. I think this product helps keep that to a minimum and provides me with that little slight color correction I need. 100% recommended for purchase!!

First off....this product arrived quick. Great price. I bought the skin tone color. I figured out quick....a little bit goes a long way. To avoid the creases, don't use so much. Just a small dab. It is almost impossible to use a pencil eyeliner after you apply this product. It made my eye lid way to slippery to pencil black on. Just did not work that well. BUT my liquid eyeliner worked prefect. It went on great. It was super bright. Actually, maybe to bright b/c I had flashes of those women in the 60's with the beehive hair and dark, liquid lined eyes and the fake lashes. LOL The first day, I used my cheap eyeshadow. It went on great but it did crease. I wiped it all off and tried again. That's when I learned...use a dab of the primer. Then the eyeshadow went on great. It looked great. 4 hours later, it did fade some. At the end of the day, it was all basically gone or gooped up in the corner of my eyeball (I hate that) The second day, I used my expensive eyeshadow. It's my good black that goes on super black. It looked GREAT. 4 hours later, it was still there, but not as black. At the end of the day, it was still there, but had faded a bunch. It was more of a light color grey. So for that reason, I deducted a star from this product. A great primer should keep a black, black all day long. I will state one thing I really did like.....the way it made my liquid eyeliner work. My eyeliner stayed on all day and looked great all day. Personally, I'm not sure if I will buy this product again. I think I am going to try some of that new eyeshadow that has the primer already in it.

Shipping/Packaging : Arrived on time, packaged well. Product : A must have for shadow enthusiasts. I apply once in the morning (With finger to ensure a thin coat.) it lasts the duration of long days (16+hrs) Then apply various shadows over it (Given a minute or so to dry a little) It makes your shadow really pop, especially lighter/brighter colors. Although it does not make it "Smudge proof" it certainly helps from smudges when you accidently rub your eyes. Comes off easy with make up remover/soap. I have sensitive skin, and this product does not irritate my skin. It works with all brands of shadows. Applied every day- one capsule usually lasts 6-9 months. I will be a long time user of this product! Seller : I would order from this seller again. :)

I have been searching for eyeshadow base primer since Avon discontinued theirs in a jar. This version is very hard to find. NYX puts out a good product, with overall good coverage. It does what it is supposed to do- brighten eyeshadow pigment and helps it to stay put. Only complaint is that it is a little tacky/sticky. That may be why it is discontinued.
