Hive Leak Detector

No details for Leak Plan provided as description implies. I spent two and a half hours on the phone trying to resolve with Hive who were very helpful despite the issue really being Amazon's to resolve. Ultimately we were unable to make this device work and had to return it. I'm still not clear as to whether Amazon should have delivered a leak plan code with the sensor but without this the sensor alone is effectively useless. I'd recommend signing up for Leak Plan directly from Hive at a few pounds a month as they will send the sensor for free. Disappointing.

These are absolutely brilliant bits of kit to work with your Hive heating and Hive hub, informs you via the Hive app when you have a constant drip somewhere in your house or a constant flow/running tap.The issue is that Hive will no longer support this after September the 1st 2023, worth noting before buying.From Hive yesterday “ Your service will continue as normal for another year, ending 1st September 2023”Cameras are out too: “ Our Hive View indoor and outdoor cameras will be supported for another three years ending 1st August 2025”Also worth noting!!!!!

First of all, it was never made clear the sensitivity of this product.I bought it for peace of mind while away from home. The smallest setting on the device is for 30 minutes.If I'm away from home and water is running for 30 minutes before I'm aware then I have a very wet house to return to.When I'm away I want to know after 30 seconds if there's a flow of water.In that respect this device is practically useless.

Purchased leak sensor as already have Hive installed and thought this would be a good addition. I was unable to add this to Hive as you need a activation code to give British Gas, no code supplied. Contacted supplier, no response and have left it too late to return. I can take out a subscription with BG for £4 a month but then you get sent the leak sensor for free. Waste of money, can't do anything with it. Regards Matt

So you get an alert and then check everywhere for a leak. It happens too often and causes too much stress. I was better off not knowing

This was sold without a contract. It won't connect to the Hive app without a contract and is therefore unusable. If you buy a Hive contract for a leak detector you get this piece of hardware for free. Nice Catch-22 there.Therefore the widget on its own is totally pointless. Returned to Amazon. Whoever is selling them on their own without contracts should desist. Check before you buy.

Don’t buy this product. I bought this from Amazon and then went to add it. It then said I needed a monthly contract to be able to use it for £3.99 a month (which in itself is ok for leak protection). When you pay £3.99 direct from Hove, you get a free leak detector which is the exact same one. Don’t buy this.
