Very Useful to Carry!
I'm delighted to carry this in my shirt pocket and always have a pen, two screwdrivers, a level, a ruler, and a stylus with me! At first I was going ro give it only three stars because I thought that it would be hard to find additional ink refills. But I wrote to "2cl direct" through Amazon about this, and they replied promptly. For a varitey of available refills to fit this pen, just search Amazon for "D1 format mini refill."

Bright LED pen light Only 1 ink refill NOT TWO! Batteries dont show dead! Read!
I work at Midas. Always inspecting brakes and filling out charts on a clipboard. We need our own flashlight for our job and I was looking to buy one. This solves both problems of always losing the same BIC pens, and never having a light!Pros: Bright Flashlight, Great quality pen with weight to it (308 stainless version) button cell batteries are cheap and can be recharged with x2 AA batteries in series for 3.0v charging the 1.5v button cell. Usually only once or twice though. I wanted to test the batteries as Im also an electrician and swapped them and the light worked when it showed, but after swapping it stopped working. Put back in the working set and it still didnt work. The plastic got tugged and if it touches the bottom or top it will ground everything to 0.2v and wont work. just move the plastic up or cut it away. All my batteries worked.Cons: Liars advertise two ink refills and you only get 1 as shown. The pen was laser cut by a CNC so the circles are sharp from the laser. I de-burred them with a whirly-bird as that used to be my old job lol. Then my last gripe is how you cannot use the glass breaker as a pen cap. In order to put away the pen you must screw it back in the body or leave it exposed. When you flip the pen/multitool around the pen is millimeters from allowing the glass breaking tip to thread in. There is a tugnsten stud left from the casting on it that doesnt let it the pen go into the glass breaker tip. I shaved that off with a 19,000 rpm drill press and a silicon carbide cone bit. I used the cone to hone in a pen shape so i can now screw on and screw off the glass breaker as a pen cap! With some modification its AWESOME! But the false advertising is just plain wrong. Will update if the replacement batteries dont fit or whatever.

This self defense tool is a beast!
First of all, this tool is a beast! If you are looking for a low key tac pen...this ain't for you. This thing screams tactical. It's looks tough, feels tough. I have large hands, so most pens feel like a delicate instrument. Not so, with this self defense tool. Anyone can get a good purchase on this thing, in a self defense scenario. 1st and foremost, get some appropriate training for this type of self defense item. It really is a self defense tool that has multiple uses...and writes really nice & super smooth. There is a "micro" tool opposite the pen. The screwdriver has been handy, more than once. As a "non lethal" option, this tool is easily concealed, yet quick to deploy. Again...get proper training. One last thing...the light. It sounded gimicky, but in reality is useful & bright for its size. I gave it 4 stars, because no multitool is perfect. This is close, for me. You will also set off every metal detector, in a given region. If you like tough, rugged, multiple use EDC items...this may be your thing. If low key, unassuming is how you roll...take a pass. I'm a rugged multiple use person. This tool fits right into my EDC.

Doesn't Come Put Together But Totally Worth It
I bought this because my dad, who is a 64 year old army veteran, is really into survival stuff. I bought it for him as a Christmas present. We had a somewhat challenging time figuring out how to put it together. But once we finally figured it out, my dad was so joyful and lively (he couldn't stop talking about it for the rest of the day. And when he couldn't find it after we finished opening all the presents, he went through everything trying to find it. )It comes in a pretty decent case, that I personally loved. The only thing so far that I can think of that could make it better is, how to put it together. If it came with instructions it would've made it much simplier. It is amazing quality. I really do recommend it. Especially for survivalists, veterans, and people you care about and want them to be safe. If anything comes up I will edit this, but as of right now, it was the perfect Christmas present.

Sturdy build, flashlight broken, not great for EDC
The product is sturdy and solidly built. This being said it is a terrible choice for an EDC for a couple of reasons that I would not have even considered prior to owning this. The opening holes in the front of the pen are not comfortable & would likely act as a cheese-grater against your hand if using the pen for defense or to break glass. The holes also allow the pen to fill with lint if pocket carried (this part has to do with the design and is my fault for overlooking prior to purchase, so I gave 2 stars instead of 1).The flashlight stopped working within days and I had been babying the thing. (Side-note: Mine never had a rubber ring on it, like in the pictures)Item: Dark Blue Aircraft-Grade Aluminum, TungstenPen looks great & I got compliments on it but wanted a working flashlight and got tired of it filling with lint/dirt and purchased a multi-tool edc pen from The Atomic Bear. I have no affiliation with them I just end up purchasing more stuff from them than I probably should.

Extremely versatile tool
The overall versatility of this survival pen is great. It has many applications in a compact design. The flashlight works much better than I anticipated. Its bright for the size & the strobe feature is a great defense option to disorient anyone on the end of it. The bottle opener screwdriver is strong & made with good metal that doesn't distort after multiple uses. All of the sections thread together easily without fear of cross threading. My only gripe would be that i wish the window breaker end would thread into the section the pen is in. I would like to be able to switch to a full size pen if I want. But it is more of a survival tool than a pen. So thats a small detail. Keep up the good work. I thank all of the employees for a well made product. Its hard to find good craftsmanship these days.
