Jamstik J7-BLE-BK-R 7 Smart Guitar

Honestly the price of this little gadget is more than fair when you compare it to the price of the few awkward guitar lessons I took and the fact that it's also a midi controller. The size does take a little bit of getting used to, and you can't use wireless headphones or else the latency is terrible. But all in, it works as expected. The google chrome lessons got me through the basic chords and it's been fun using it as a midi controller. Still using my acoustic guitar in the learning process, but I think there's a place for this product for beginners who are interested in producing music.Bonus points because the lessons are FREE.99. Didn't realize that when I first bought it and half expected there to be a subscription fee, so that was a perk.

I was primarily interested in using this as a midi controller with Presonus Studio One on my PC. The latency and accuracy is so bad that it is not usable for that purpose, and I have a high-end computer with plenty of memory and CPU. It seems this product is geared for Apple products and maybe it works better with that or maybe as a guitar teacher using the vendor's software, but it certainly doesn't work well on a PC as a midi controller.

Not easy to pair up

I bought it really discounted and still didn’t feel it was worth my money, some of the strings wouldn’t even register and was random every time. The delay is what hurt the most is hard to try to play a scale or practice anything when the delay is like that. I was really hoping this was gonna be Good cause I could use something like this.

I've been wanting to learn but kept putting it off. So I'm giving it another try. I ordered my new Jamstik 7 and it is a beauty! I had to decide if I would go with the Chrome Play Portal or the IOS, as I had both options available. After checking out the support website and tightening up my strings just a bit, I decided to go IOS. I used bluetooth from the jamstik to my Iphone and loaded up the IOS jamstik app and did the suggested firmware update. After that, it was easy and so cool to see my fingers on the screen as I fretted and learned chords. I downloaded the Jamtutor app and, although I am not too far into it, I can see that I am going to advance a lot further than I have in the past. I'm not much for going to lessons, and with my travel now and then, I believe this will be a good companion and opportunity to learn.

This product is a cool idea but it doesn’t work. If you’re hoping to learn guitar, all of the physical aspects are wrong. This product is at level 1 right now. Maybe buy after many revisions. I’m a professional guitarist with endorsements, two albums on an international record label, and thousands of gigs played. Please don’t use this to learn!

I have not played guitar before, but the Jamstik has done an awesome job of getting me started without having to pay for lessons. I got it a few weeks ago and started playing around with it while trying to watch some youtube videos, once I started using some of the apps they recommend I was able to pick it up a lot faster. I've never been very musically inclined (Played the snare drum in high school), but like a lot of people always thought it would be cool to know how to play the guitar. I can't speak to how well this would work for people who already have advanced guitar skils, but from my zero experience starting point I've had a lot fun and can play a few songs well enough for people to recognize them! I don't think I'll ever be playing stadiums, but if you're like me and want to learn some of the basics and play around with some of the other features (piano/other mixboard type sounds), I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Si quieres aprender a tocar guitarra no compres esta porqueria, no sirve. El portal de chrome solamente confunde pues aparecen falsas notas que nadie toca, y asi hace imposible aprender desde cero. El vendedor puso muchos pretextos para hacer la devolucion y nunca me devolvio mi dinero. Al principio tenia una app en aple store, pero ya no existe y no se puede utilizar offline.

Ich wollte den Jamstik 7 eigentlich für Übungszwecke "on the go" verwenden, da ich viel unterwegs bin und schon länger nach einer portablen Lösung suche, mit der ich im Übungsryhtmus bleiben kann. Allerdings ist das Gerät dafür leider nicht brauchbar, da die Saiten nur sehr mangelhaft auf Anschläge reagieren (und das auch nach Anpassung der Sensitivität in der App). Das führt leider zu einem sehr unbefriedigenden Spielerlebnis und macht es unmöglich, seriös zu üben. Darüber hinaus sind die unmittelbar verfügbaren Sounds in den Apps sehr eingeschränkt. Ich kann leider keine Kaufempfehlung aussprechen und sende das Produkt zurück. Schade, da das Konzept des Jamstik im Prinzip wirklich gut ist.

I cannot believe it it 2019 and there still isn't a usable midi guitar on the market. Unboxed this and plugged it into Ableton. Plug and play everything was ready to go, but no. Unusable. Ghost notes, notes not triggering. A complete mess. Back in the box and returned same day.
