Perfect for the broken cork
I learn about these ingenious little devices while visiting some wineries in Napa, CA. Our tour guide had one of these sitting on the table and we asked him about it. He proceeded to push a cork half way in the bottle and break it off. As many people probably know, at this point, a corkscrew is a bad idea. With a corkscrew you will either go the entire way through the cork, or not go far enough, and you'll just worsen the situation. This puller, when slid in correctly (rocking back and forth), you will be able to pull any cork, no matter how damaged. For a couple of dollars, it's a good backup for opening those stuck bottles of wine. This should be in the home of any avid wine drinker. As far as built quality, I have no issues with it. The handle could be bigger, but I haven't had an issue, and I have fairly large hands.

Cool...
A buddy of mine is a wine maker and suggested buying one of these. I purchased it with no clue how to use it but figured it couldn't be that hard. I was right, it wasn't hard at all. I pushed the prongs all the way in then turned the cork (left, right or both). The cork came out easier than ever. The other day I was at a small party and shredded a cork with the old fashion cork screw. I ended up pushing the cork in to the bottle to get it open (last resort). It was messy and embarrassing to say the least. I would have killed to have one of these then.Anyway, very cool tool for the wine lover. :)

Rough around the edges
Shipping was fine - on time.... The prongs are a little rough around the edges; tended to grab the cork and push it into the bottle. I took some emery cloth and sanded the edges of the prongs so they would slide past the cork rather than hooking onto the cork and pushing it. In normal use you should be able to push the prongs past the cork and then pull the cork out with a twisting motion. I guess a cork puller with polished chrome plated prongs would be better.

Broke on first use
I presume mine is just a manufacturing defect. The prongs are actually a u shape, fit into the handle and held in with a u shaped piece of metal as a keeper. That metal keeper appears to need a screw or pin in it to hold it into the handle. Mine has a hole where a screw or pin would go, but nothing in it. First time I pulled on it, the horseshoe style keeper and prongs pulled out of the handle. I believe I can fix it with a roll pin or small screw, so I'm not going to send it back, but I shouldn't have to "fix" something I paid full price for. I think this should have cost $3 or been 2/$7, not $7 For the $7 or $8 I paid, I could have gotten a nice one from a winery in Napa.

they work great
I bought 6 of these for Christmas gifts after see a friend use one. They work great, but you can only use them on real corks not the synthetic corks. I think they work just as fast or faster then your typical corkscrew puller. I gave a couple to some friends I have it Argentina whom own vineyards, I not sure if they got the hang of it even after I showed them how to use it. Of course they are also the type of people that think they know everything there is to know about wine so they probably have some reason for not using them. Either way, I will keep using it. Great product!!!

Works OK, poor value overall
I purchased this product to replace a prong-type cork remover I had in the past. This one is of very poor quality and I wouldn't recommend it. First of all, the plastic sleeve is too small to accommodate the prongs. The cheap low-quality plastic of the sleeve cracked instantly after putting the opener into it.Secondly, the prongs themselves don't seem to be the correct distance apart. The metal is not quite smooth enough or thin enough to work very well in removing the cork. That being said, I have been able to open wine bottles with this opener. If this one broke or got lost, I would definitely buy a higher quality prong opener of a different brand as a replacement. This one is not worth buying.

Double-pronged cork puller
I was not happy with this item at all. The ad suggests that the sheath is made of metal and it is not. It comes in a flimsy plastic sheath. The photo shown in the ad is not the actual opener sold. Also, the construction feels a bit flimsy. I work in the wine industry and I purchased this item with the hope that it would have a durable feel to it. It would probably be fine for home use but I don't expect it to last to long for my needs.

You get what you pay for
Don't waste your money on this one. I wish I had spent a little more and gotten a better quality cork puller. This one is difficult to use and tends to push the cork down into the bottle as you insert the prongs along the sides of the cork. I have another one that we purchased at a winery - that one works great, and thought I'd buy another one as a backup/spare.The prongs are not as thin and smooth as my other one, so instead of easily sliding down the edge of the cork, it grabs the cork and pushes it down further into the bottle. Bottom line - don't buy this one.

Bien mais un peu léger...
Les lames sont un peu trop souples, si le bouchon est collé, cela ne fonctionne pas!Dommage

WORST PURCHASE EVER
Product still covered in mechanical oil when I openned the package, and most importantly the blades were too thick for two different wine bottles that I have tried it on, and it was very very hard to use compare to the ones I used before. Overall really really bad quality!

Everything as expected - good job!

Unreliable, poorly fabricated.
Broke on first use. Incredibly poor quality. Worse than dollar store products, yet more expensive.
