Very Nice - Excellent Price Point
Reviews on 'basic' products are difficult - you really do not want just one or two words along the lines of "Great" or "Horrible" you want to know why someone thinks that way, after all you are making a choice and spending your money - so here we go:Basic, nice, inexpensive, a few rough plating spots. Go for it if these things do not bother you. That said, and with my recommendation if you just want a basic well put together shave stand, why do I have some reservation?.I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, not wanting to subtract points based on comparisons to a like product unless there were some really significant issues, but not wanting to over inflate a rating either I finally went with the 3 star "It's OK" because that is really all this product is, it performs as advertised and expected, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing just leaped out to surprise me with "extras"Take a look at all the stands - the ones in this particular "style" look like cookie cutter clones of each other. Makes me believe there is only one manufacturer that many purchase from, brand with their name, and wrap more of less packaging or value add to the box.If you want the basic stand, put together well, very good but not excellent fit and finish, and the best price (I could find while searching these out) then THIS IS THE ONE. The casting is well done, polished, not blemished, the plating is smooth except on the forks, no bubbles. The bottom has a rubber non-slip pad to help hold it in place. The weight is correct for the size and what it would be holding. It is a bright chrome finish.I do not receive products from manufactures as compensation to review, lets be clear on that. I have a different re-seller version of what looks to be a twin, yet it is not. It weighs just a bit more, the nut cap on the top of the post is metal, this model nut cap - to me - feels like a plated plastic piece. When removed, the thread are cast onto the post, there is not an adjustable mandrel in the post which may come in handy if you decide to change forks out or add another style and the gap is not the same. The fork (the prongs that hold the brush and razor) are not plated all that smooth, not bad, but in contrast to the other re seller it is noticeable. When I have expensive razors and very good brushes, on expensive granite vanity, I want to showcase them and not worry about little off bits on the stand. Why then did I purchase this one if I have a really nice one already...gift for a friend, I thought they would both be the same, they are not, $4 difference in price is evident with the unadvertised "extras" of the other re seller version of this stand. My friend said, no worries, a gift is a gift. He is keeping it.

Very stable
I just received this chrome safety razor stand for my double edge razor and badger brush from Nice Home and overall I would say it met my expectations. Previously I had a gold stand pretty much identical to this stand from Miusco, I believe, and the gold stand really felt out of place in the bathroom so I went with this chrome stand instead. This razor stand came shipped in the box that can be seen in the description above. When opening, the stand came preassembled and wrapped in some kind of plastic wrap. Upon inspection, I found no buffs, scratches or dings of the sort. Overall, I would say this stand in completely stable and has a nice weighted base so even if you knock it a little by accident, it will not tumble over. Just like my gold stand, in addition to the weighted base, there is a water-resistance and non-skid padding so even if this stand gets wet – which more than likely will – there is no problem, just simply wipe it down.Currently, I am using the Merkur Long Handled Safety Razor which I think is approximately 4 inches long and this stand is just perfect for this razor. From my picture, you can see that this stand does have some length to it and can hold a razor of most sizes. One reason why I go for these types of stands is because there is a holder for the razor and badger brush. It should be common knowledge for everyone who shaves with a badger brush to let it hang dry upside down so the water does not reside inside the fur and to let it drip if anything, because it can ruin the brush. Since this stand has met my expectations I would therefore recommend buying this stand – however, I did not these types of stands are very prone to fingerprints. But if you are a clean freak like myself and clean up after every shave then that should be no problem. How I rate my products:1 star – I hate it and will more than likely be returned2 stars – I dislike it and may return the item3 stars – Its okay, item is not the worst but nor the best4 stars – I like it, very useful and may purchase from again5 stars – I absolutely love it, it worked perfectly and will definitely purchase again

Good Quality but Did Not Hold My Items
This is an attractive quality item, but the holder did not hold any of my shaving items. A 1956 Gillette red tip, a Viking's Blade DE, and a Stirling Soap badger brush either didn't sit well or fit on it at all. I removed the holder arm and molded a custom poly bead sculpture myself that holds all 3 at once. It is balanced well to hold my invention so I will not return it...therefore I like it, but not love it because it does not hold anything well without mods.

Effective, and not a lightweight toy
The smaller prongs for the razor itself could be a little longer. The razor must be placed ever so gently and perfectly into position or it just falls off. This is not a killer, as most who would use this have already learned to slow down a little bit. It would just be nice to not have to play a little balancing game at the end of each shave. On a side note, do not try to catch the razor if it falls...that can lead to stitches. Not that I would know this personally......Otherwise this is heavy enough to be stable, is real metal (not plastic with a chrome finish) and sturdy.

great buy but not great for an art of shaving brush
The razor stand is a great buy for the cost. As others have said this razor stand will not hold an art of shaving brush very well. My brush fits if I put the handle on top of the two arms so that it holds the brush base at the the point that the bristles attach.

Good value for a well built stand
I was a bit worried that the quality of this item would be cheap but I am happy to report that this item fully exceeded my expectations. It's a very solid build stand and holds either of my brushes (both different sizes) as well as my EJ razor perfectly. It has a rubber bottom that keeps it from sliding around the bathroom counter. The item seems well chromed but only time will tell. If the chrome starts to peel I will certainly come back here and adjust my review accordingly.
