Thank you for your question. this smart car may not follow a black sharpie line, because it has two photoresistances which play important part roles and the distance of photoresistances is about 0.59 inch / 1.5cm. In addition, there is a round black runway for your convenience on the back of the paper English instruction come with package. You could also design the unique runway with dark black electrical tape or dark pen.
