76865 Antenna 18-1/5In Compatible with Select BMW / Mini / Volkswagen Models

I loved it so much when I first installed it in my 2007 Jetta that I custom installed it in my 2009 Mazda 6 later. My Mazda 6 came without one. It's back window serves as the antenna. So I drilled a hole on my roof and installed this antenna with the housing designed for Jetta, then wired it to my aftermarket stereo. It works better than the stock setup. Love it.

After driving for over two years with it ( so yeah, tested and then some) I notice after swapping to a smaller antenna that this one has a lot of interference and low signal level.Antennas need to be tuned to the frequency they will operate in, and all have a bandwidth (range above and below the tuned frequency they can operate efficiently) this antenna gets reception only in a few stations but is quickly overpowered if passing close to another's station antenna, this means that the antenna is not tuned correctly for FM use (maybe am radio is better, but never used it) a 1/8 wave antenna would be 15 inches, a 5/32 wave would be 18.83" so this antenna falls short of a 5/32 but long for a 1/8 wavelength, going to try a 15" antenna next.

My husband drives a 2008 VW rabbit and his antenna broke off while he was going through a car wash. Since then all!hos radio played was static. This is how we found this replacement antenna for his car.The radio is now coming in crisp and clear, and all of his regular radio stations work.We are really glad to have found this quality replacement antenna so quickly and easily on Amazon. This antenna is a direct replacement for the 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen factory installed antenna. Just screw the old antenna off and screw the Dorman antenna on it's that easy. I didn't notice any difference in radio reception between the Dorman and factory antenna . The reason I needed a new antenna was the original antenna's rubber base was cracking and distracted from my vehicles appearance.

It is so wonderful to have such a strong crystal clear signal again!! I was a little leery about ordering this antenna because of it being so cheap but I am a fan of Dorman Products and as usual it is a perfect oem replacement. I have never had an issue with a Dorman Product. Ty Dorman!

Great Antenna upgrade if you are constantly having to hit the seek button. Bolts right up to my 19 ford escape even though the product cat says not effective.

This is a great replacement for my factory antenna. (2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen), unfortunately this mast wasn't the problem, my whole assembly was broken. I had to return this and buy a whole new unit (shark fin). Otherwise I would've kept this to use.

I bought this to replace my damaged antenna on my 2009 VW Rabbit. It was a perfect fit. Simply unscrew the old antenna and screw this one in. I haven't noticed any difference in sound quality through the radio at all. I would recommend this antenna over buying them directly from VW, they want to charge around $60 for the exact same thing.
